Mind Stoke are the oldest club in the Premier League like as they were founded in 1863 and the 2nd oldest professional club in the World after Notts County.

Not that has anything to do with owt like but just thought I'd mention it.
did they win owt back in 1863 against notts county? must have been a classic season in the staffordshire cup that one

There is nothing good about Stoke, nothing, nothing at all.

Is anyone really bothered about Stoke, you know really bothered.

tbf they boil my piss when we play em but then again every opposition team does
username is bothered enough.

though i am concerned about his choice of crisp

If you can't get the players and manager to alter the way you play, you will struggle to keep getting the results that you have been getting.

Yes, quite true. TP can be a frustrating manager. He brings in two excellent wingers to give us more options than Route one, they excel at that for a while, then we play hoofball at home to Fulham

that old and still behind the likes of huddersfield, preston, burnley, old etonians and the royal engineers for major honours.

Unfortunately, has been said many times, a teams potential to improve or to attract marquee signings, has very little to do with our traditional strengths of good crowds and a great, but distant history.

It's all to do with financial potential to succeed and they have as much chance as us in that respect.

They will struggle to attract good players though if they cannot give assurances that they want to change their style from Artillery to Cavalry though.

I dont think theyd let them have horses anyway

having said all that - tell you what though - he'd probably be an excellent partner for that striker they have - that Jones fella. Might be a productive pairing.

Bliddy hell, madness.

While I loved Carty going all out attack as much as the next man, can anyone explain to me what the Stoke fan said that was so heinous? Seemed quite reasonable to me

Paying the price for the shite that gets posted on the Pancake. Twas ever thus with football message boards.

I mentioned the possibility of us signing Bent a month ago. He is in and out of the first team at Sunderland and the club are not known for their financial regulation. I suspect they need the money.

We're financially the best we've ever been under Quinn & Ellis.

We've been a Prem team for 3 years would no chance of going down for this season, established I'd say.

He irritated me a bit when he implied that NUFC are more successful than SAFC despite our more league titles but that's southern ignorance for you. Otherwise, he seemed ok, more reasonable than the ***** on that Oatcake site.

The Bent to Stoke rumour does seem to have a air of truth about it, it would explain as to why Bent has been so poor recently and also would explain his attitude in the past few games. He has stopped celebrating goals with team mates for starters

He needs to shape up playing wise and attitude wise imo

Its either shape up or ship out

wanker.

They are something special dont you think?, the last time I went to Stoke was the midweek 1-0 loss on parking the car a middle aged Stoke fan told me to be careful as if anyone heard my accent the windows would get smashed, my reply was that we are not in the 1970's, but obviously they are, poor Matalan shopping knuckle draggers

:lol::lol: I was thinking likewise.

In general they are a good bunch who just take enourmous pride in their club and nowt wrong with that. Although there is a great deal of arrogance creeping in there this season I have noticed. Only natural I suppose. They were a fairly humble bunch who were understandably delighted with how things were going, but now they seem to mirror the arrogance seen on here for a few years. A couple of weeks ago, for example, I was told pretty much unanimously, that the capless Ryan Shawcross was far too good for Sunderland, knew he was far too good for Sunderland, and would never ever even entertain the posibility of playing for us while he could play for Stoke. This coming just months after condemning us on here for people questioning why Jones would even consider going there. All very hypocritical. Shame.
