Even at the very peak of his form here he was complete and total shite.
Danny "The Brazilian" Collins, proof positive that a section of our fans wouldn't recognise a footballer if he was sat in their kitchen wearing a strip.

Styles himself as the Pancake financial guru. In reality I suspect he just reads the broadsheets. His 'SAFC have no money' originated in summer 2009 when he couldn't find anything about Ellis Short on the internet and has gone through numerous wildly different iterations. They laud him for 'predicting' WHU and Brums financial downfall. as far as I can see it was all in the press well before.
As for Bent to Stoke, I would suggest that one of them ask him. He's freely available on Twitter. That Davesviews fella has had Stoke spending over £40m every transfer window (they never follow up -funny that) and isn't worth listening to unless he says that someone is signing in 48 hours. He spends the first 3 weeks of the transfer window casting his net far and wide. What the minority of Pancakers who are getting carried away need to ask themselves is whether Stoke are willing to shell out the £15-20m to sign him and the £60k+ p/w to pay him. Considering the song and dance Pulis made after taking Jones, I'd suspect not.
sorry to be a pedant but its 3pts and the game in hand is arsenal away.
Very accurate, totally agree.
Quite true, but it's still a sidewards move isn't it? Moving to say, Wolves, would be a backward step, but for the last 2 years and the forseeable future SAFC and Stoke have/are/will be competing for the same Premiership places.
funny that because i've always rated wolves as a far bigger club than stoke.

Just goes to show that you know very little about football. If a player is choosing what club to go to, he's going to look at recent form and predicted form. Stoke have finished higher than Wolves since '06, and judging by the league and quality players we are bringing into the club will continue to do so.
I'm sure you'd be laughing harder if it were Wolves fans thinking that they're about to sign Bent.
i mentioned the possibility of us signing bent a month ago. He is in and out of the first team at sunderland and the club are not known for their financial regulation. I suspect they need the money.

its pathetic how much your lot believe this mug. if you seriously think you have a chance of signing the first player on our team sheet your seriously deluded. like i said, can you lot not sus it out? you only get our shite. kenwynne being case in point.
bellend
stoke are a poxy little village outfit who we send our shit players to. Bent isn't one of them. Oh yes and ellis short is a multi billionaire so fuck off stoke. Keep buying the whiteheads and higginbottoms.

No mate, i would think it was more realistic tbh.
look at reading. they broke safcs record of 105 points in gaining promotion, finished 7th and were starting to talk of extending the stadium to 40000 plus amid delusions of a long term premier league future.A very succinct, informative and educated post.
Like I said earlier in the thread, every messageboards has it's village idiots.

You think Bent is a Championship player?

stoke have had two mid table finishes but their style of play, is limited and pulis signing gudjohson was a signal, to try and adapt stokes style. it was destined to failure of course and a return to international rugby union, of gaining ground, through a series of free kicks and throws made a happy return.
where are reading now? it will happen to stoke.

delusion is the common denominator.I don't think there are many similarities between Stoke & what happened to Reading, but yes, could very well happen. Any Premier League team can go down, after all, the North East's most successful* team were relegated season before last.
However, in the hypothetical debate of whether Bent would rather join Stoke or Wolves I'd say that the latter have a far bigger chance of getting relegated. Funnily enough, the bookies agree with me on that one.
I'm under no delusions that Stoke are still punching above our weight, but TP has done well to get us this far, and is (very slowly) adapting our style/players to become an established Prem side.
* Sorry, couldn't help myself.
Unlike blunderland eh ? Funny that I've just watched the premier league years 01/02 surprise surprise you survived on the final day, 10 years on you are a few points above the drop zone, you're destined for more struggle just like us.
delusion is the common denominator.
you posted earlier that for the "forseeable future" stoke and safc will be competing for the same place in the league.
if you check back over the last 100 years plus, very rarely have stoke competed at a level, similar to safc.
look at the respective trophy wins at all levels of the years.
stoke one league cup and 12 staffordshire cup win
safc 6 top division wins, 2 fa cups, umpteen second division wins and one third division win.
crowd comparisons over the years, will show you that safc are massively winning that one.
no, i am sorry but your time will be limited, as are the majority of players available to stoke presently or in the transfer market.
if safc had a crowd of 28000 it would be considered pathetic. think on that one
as for the bookies. chelsea were 1/8 to beat safc, who were 11/1. result 0-3
You Mackems are funny. All you ever bang on about when you get into a football debate is your attendance figures. That's when you know you're clutching at straws. Must really piss you off that the Mags attendance figures are better than yours eh? Inferiority complex or what?
Couldn't really care less about the last 100 years to be honest. It has no bearing on where Stoke or Sunderland are heading. Whether you like it or not, for the time being SAFC and Stoke are competing in the same 'mini league' as it were.
