It's not totally unrelated tho is it? It's travelling to/from the game.

Should Roma not be able to ban fans that go on rampages with a knife the night before a European game?

I'm sure the OP has been perfectly truthful.

I'm sure he was kicked off for a bit of banter

Sorry next time I'll check my crystal ball mate seems I should know every fact of an event I wasn't there for! And as I've already said I was making a general point anyway it's not specific to this story.

In some cases maybe, but for what is essentially 'causing a disturbance' ?

Maybe it's me but I can't grasp what it has to do with SAFC and moreover how they can impose a punishment (irony?) for something which is between two separate and unrelated parties. Does having a season ticket give SAFC the right to ban you from their ground if you haven't paid your gas bill ?
Does the non-payment of a gas bill by a Sunderland supporter bring the club into disrepute? To be fair its debatable what conduct does or does not bring the club into disrepute if its carried out by a minority as most reasonable onlookers would not cast aspersions on the club as a consequence. The bottom line is that there is standard of behaviour expected on a train and if you don't like it travel by other means. I used to travel with like minded sunderland supporters on a coach to away matches when I was a kid and we probable sang and drank all the way there and back. But the driver set the rules and we abided by them. Daft anar...............

Surely you have to be tell the police to fuck off?
I was taking the piss. He's not called It's Pissed Again cos he is incontinent

When do you stop being a football fan or customer ? What if you're driving home from the match and get stopped for drink driving, do you get banned from the next home game ?
I don't know. I don't think there is a rule book.

In my view a ban for something like that would be harsh in the extreme, but if it stops fans actually like arseholes...

Please tell me you were lad on Coach E on the 18.30 back? When that Chinese lass clipped her boyfriend all owa "Has Ji Don Won been cheating on ya like? He cheated us for f***ing two and a half year":lol:

In all fairness! She deserved more to be kicked off than the three lads that did.

"He's not from Peterlee!"
i was on the 630 train from kings cross, got hoyed off at donny, cant remember the chinese incident lol

Respect is the basic thing here.
Never had a problem drinking with mates on a train back from football.
Code of conduct, no swearing with kids and families and no singing out loud.
Plenty of banter and never had transport police giving hassle.
I am older now.
Mind you had to laugh on a tube a few seasons back when the "thing" was rocking from side to side. All the Japanese tourists going to Fulham :) were taking pictures :) .... Still sing and shout but a time and place for everything.

More hassle in lower leagues taking kids on a terrace. My two left at Torquay Boxing Day a few years back at halftime in tears after the twats started fighting the stewards before the game. Had to move from a position where they could see to a corner where they couldn't see a thing. Lucky the Mrs was at the game and took the kids back to the car whilst I watched on my own second half.
Lucky to have got them back into watching although since that game if they go away I get them seats.

Hey, you have put your hands up there and said fair enough. Move on from it mate and chalk it down to experience.

Voice of reason. We all make mistakes, learn and move on.
If I drink on a train the biggest problem I have is falling asleep and ending up in South Wales etc.
Came back from Preston last season and West Brom were on way back from Man Utd having won. Found out I was Swindon and passing me beers until New Street.
Mrs said I was as pissed as the fart when I got in :)
