:lol::lol: There's some right fannies on this thread like. The OP was having a laugh with his mates singing a few chants, not committed murder you boring pricks.

It's stuff like this that forces dry trains on the rest of us all though. You can have a laugh without singing constantly and annoying the shit out of everyone else in the coach.

The police tend to have a word with you a couple of times before you get hoyed off anyway.

A bit singing is nowt man.....remember coming back from London years ago with a full carriage of Sunderland and Darlo fans scrapping, with Lawrie McMenemy in the middle trying to break it up.

Should respect other people. The football ground is the place for chanting not on public transport. Your representing the football club, getting hammered and shouting and intimidating other people doesn't reflect well on the club or the supporters, grow up and maybe dry trains are better for people who put on the hard man act after a few.

Is there a law against singing in public? I must have missed that one.

all i was doing was chanting, anyway the police asked for my details, which i had no problem giving him them, can i expect a letter through the door or anything like that, they didnt charge me with anything.

Please tell me you were lad on Coach E on the 18.30 back? When that Chinese lass clipped her boyfriend all owa "Has Ji Don Won been cheating on ya like? He cheated us for f***ing two and a half year":lol:

In all fairness! She deserved more to be kicked off than the three lads that did.

18.30 train back to Newcastle? There was a lad chanting all sorts of nonsense on there about 'asbestos awareness cards'. Coppers were up and down a fair bit, ended up off at Doncaster I think.

My personal favourite was "has Ji been cheating on her?" "Ji cheated on us for two and a half year".

@Shikari SAFC

"He's not from Peterlee!"

Hopefully once the takeover to Stagecoach / Virgin happens on 1st March we won't have 'dry' trains. It only appears to be East Coast that insist on 'dry' trains.

Tbf to the op, I probably, in fact I know I done things like that, chanting and going a bit daft when I was younger. When I see lads doing this now though, this is why dry trains have happened. I won't call the lad, like I say I done it myself, but you are making yourself a target by doing it. We sat on a different carriage, where there was about a dozen safc on. Sat had a bit crack on and no doubt got a bit loud at times, but not once did it get to the stage where the police came down. Tbh I think dry trains are here to stay, but the chanting and jumping about on seats, then that won't help and just gives the police the chance to say all football fans are like that.

Certainly the definition of reasonable behaviour.

Am I reading this thread right ???? Some of you have been banned by SAFC for something you've done on a train ? How does that work, you're on a train at 8pm on a Saturday night, do something wrong so a policeman asks you for a copy of a ticket for an event you left 3 hours and 150miles earlier .... and SAFC who are still 2hours away ban you from attending future games? If you produce a ticket stub for Phantom Of The Opera does Andrew Lloyd Webber ban you from the West End ?

The same as an employer may dismiss someone for misconduct in his/her private life. Life's a shit eh?

Consequences for actions eh? Who'd've thought?

People going on as if singing is a heinous crime  cause nobody's gotten a bit stupid on a long journey before, oh no his singing is gonna stop people enjoying their ride!!!! Fair enough it's a bit rude but all it needs is some common sense, have a word and tell him to stop and if he keeps going then chuck him off.
And that didn't happen!?! Was it just singing? Haway man............

Is there a law against singing in public? I must have missed that one.
If only it were that simple.......................

I don't really understand why you feel the need to ask me when clearly the op is the one that knows
But your statement makes the assumption that nobody had 'a word' or told 'him to stop' as you advocated that this should have been the precursor to him being thrown off!

Experienced far worse than this traveling back from OT last year. Front seat passenger put on some Smiths shite and the driver thought it was acceptable behaviour. Dry car anarl.

In some cases maybe, but for what is essentially 'causing a disturbance' ?

Consequences for actions eh? Who'd've thought?
Maybe it's me but I can't grasp what it has to do with SAFC and moreover how they can impose a punishment (irony?) for something which is between two separate and unrelated parties. Does having a season ticket give SAFC the right to ban you from their ground if you haven't paid your gas bill ?

Well, given the information provided that is a fair assumption to make. However it was also a general point that police can be too eager sometimes and common sense should be applied when deciding to, for example, remove someone from a train as it can be quite a serious situation if somebody gets stranded.

Because you implied you knew the story, and dismissed it as such

Perhaps?

From what the op has said, which is as much as anyone knows

It's not totally unrelated tho is it? It's travelling to/from the game.

Should Roma not be able to ban fans that go on rampages with a knife the night before a European game?

I'm sure the OP has been perfectly truthful.

I'm sure he was kicked off for a bit of banter
