Fans chanting a bit on our train on Sat back up to Newcastle. You can understand why it happens but there is a time / place.

A 10 year old girl was in tears and when her dad challenged one of the lads he was told to 'fuck off'. Couple of us told the gobshite to sit down and behave.

If the carriage is reserved for Sunderland supporters then it is a shame that supporters cant have a bit of a sing along, within reason. However it probably wasn't and other passengers were probably intimidated by chanting involving Shearer, his cap, and/or other tribal name-calling. Give your head a shake, grow up and maybe we will all be trusted to enjoy a few drinks on a train in future without being treated like scum by the police and other officials. Don't give these officials the opportunity to ruin your day - don't put yourself on offer!

All in all..This puts me of taking the bairn to her 1st away match on the train.
Thats a bit of a shame really.

This is the problem mate; people don't realise the problems they cause and they end up dragging the name of Sunderland fans through the dirt.

Should respect other people. The football ground is the place for chanting not on public transport. Your representing the football club, getting hammered and shouting and intimidating other people doesn't reflect well on the club or the supporters, grow up and maybe dry trains are better for people who put on the hard man act after a few.

all i was doing was chanting, anyway the police asked for my details, which i had no problem giving him them, can i expect a letter through the door or anything like that, they didnt charge me with anything.

Didn't you consider that folks around you might not want to hear your inane chanting? I'd have been owa the moon ya got thrown off. That's why decent supporters have problems getting rail transport on match days. Also why we cannot have a drink

Fookin moron

Tbf to the op, I probably, in fact I know I done things like that, chanting and going a bit daft when I was younger. When I see lads doing this now though, this is why dry trains have happened. I won't call the lad, like I say I done it myself, but you are making yourself a target by doing it. We sat on a different carriage, where there was about a dozen safc on. Sat had a bit crack on and no doubt got a bit loud at times, but not once did it get to the stage where the police came down. Tbh I think dry trains are here to stay, but the chanting and jumping about on seats, then that won't help and just gives the police the chance to say all football fans are like that.

This.

Sadly the minority spoil it for the rest, and the strange thing is; they don't realise they are making themselves targets for the police.

Personally I'd like to see more people chucked off the train if they misbehave. You can't go around singing and acting a twat when families are using the same train

You'll be fine mate. Especially if it's obvious you are safc. Anar that shouldn't matter, but it wouldn't stop me and I've to been on plenty of these trains. If I was on a train with the bairn and a group of lads were making him uncomfortable with their behaviour, I would just move. Wouldn't get mesell all worked up about it, what's the point. I've seen young families get upgraded to first class if theres spaces.
