Silly me I thought we were talking about your incorrect statement that jailbreaking an iPhone was illegal!
The point I'm trying to make, which you're either avoiding or are too thick to see, is that guilt often depends on motive as well as action.
If you break into a house to rescue a baby from a fire you're a hero. If you do it to rob an old lady during the night (and get caught) you're a villain and likely convict.
If you jailbreak for one of the 6 allowed reasons (which don't cover anyone on here that I've ever seen mention it) you're ok, if you do it for other, nefarious purposes (the rest) then you're breaking the DMCA if within its reach (which includes where I live, via an FTA).
So the reason why you jailbreaked matters, and it's not hard to see why people do it from threads on here.
