Google Stadia

Cloud gaming will be so think it will, it’s great tech - just needs buy in from developers.
Cloud gaming will be a thing long term. Stadia has became a punchline though. Google seem to have a lot of good concepts but doesn't see them through. Stadia will be forgotten in a drawer next to Google glass imo.

Is this worth getting or not? Seen them selling for as low as £50

If you have a laptop with Google Chrome you can hop on and give it a go for £9 if you sign up for a month's membership and try the free games. The £50 is just for the controller (you can use any on the browser) and a Chromecast Ultra to play on a TV.

Came out at the worst time. The PS5 and Series X arrived shortly after and ran more games and better. If it had released in 16-17 it may have had time to impress. Not to mention Microsoft and Sony have developed their own own streaming services which are a far better value proposition and supplement the traditional console well, rather than looking to replace it.

The lack of games was one thing, but for me more than anything it showed a disconnect between the California tech bubble and the real world. Most people don't have access to reliable, fast enough internet to make this work on a mass scale
