Good, the Bad and the I hate their faces - Sunderland managers

Risking pelters but we had some good times with Bruce including arguably our best ever premier league result and performance.
His comments and behaviour in the wake of his sacking (which I was pretty much on the fence with and ambivalent to at the time) has tarnished his reputation here forever. He's a disgrace.

At one point in his tenure I was actually worried England might come calling. It's nuts how things pan out.

What a crazy appointment Phil Parkinson was

I'd say not since most of the crowd were calling him a fat Geordie bastard during his last game
I’d say our best Premiership football was played under Bruce.
The best for me was, although a 0-0 draw, Man Utd at the SOL. We passed them off the park that day.
Followed by the 0-3 away win at Chelsea and the 2-1 home win against Spurs. Quality passing and movement.

Before anyone starts on about Reid’s team. Yes they were good but it was a lot of route one Quinn to SKP, which was great and you play to your strengths. However for quality football the best for me were those games.

Dislike everyone from Moyes through to Neil.

The rest are alright.
Howard Wilkinson?!

There’s no argument.

That match - I don’t even need to name it - is the best we’ve played in my life. Including the walloping we gave to the same team under Reid.

But them into categories.

-Who you are still fond of
-Who are shit
-Who you still cant stand.

Taking out Caretakers, Sbragia and Quinn.

Fond of: Reid, Keane, Big Dick, BSA, Mowbray
Can't stand: Wilko, Moyes, Parkinson, Neil
On the fence / ones I'd not give a negative reaction if we came across them again: MicMac, Bruce, MON, Poyet (Some highlights but some equally turgid times and football)
Awful: All the rest

Parkinson, Johnson, Ross and Grayson were punching way above their weight being here, Johnson and Parkinson were particularly woeful appointments. Coleman did try but the cause was lost. Moyes came here for a laugh and a pay day for his mates, still cant stand him. Wilkinson was a joke, will never forget his appointment and being bitterly disappointed and bemused at the same time.

The rest of em (not including stand ins) I don't mind.
and arguably the worst a couple of weeks prior
A mixed bag of Gregg's with Bruce. Aside the obvious jibes at him, I don't mind his time here.

He was awful but was equally Bob Murrays fault as it was Wilkinsons fault, Murray has acknowledged this.
I only dislike Moyes, Di Canio because no manager should turn the fans against the team, and Wilko. Liked Coleman disliked his football. Liked Grayson because he was honoured to be managing our club disliked Bain for appointing him. Thought Parkinson was an apt choice for when crowds weren't allowed in to grounds. Liked MON at the beginning hated him at the end. Favourite managers Reid and Gus.

Liked Lee because every club should be managed by a hobbit at some point.

Mowbray and Neill did us proud but left at the right time.

Part of me is desperate to 100 percent like Poyets time, however the football played towards the end of his time was utterly turgid and gets masked by our later years of disgrace in the champ and into league one.

That QPR home midweek game still haunts me and probably will forever.

Moves was a disgrace. The catalyst of our downfall in recent times . The Club was bouncing end of previous season under Big Sam . Ready to kick on . He destroyed it all. We never get mentioned as his previous club now. As if it never happened. Yet we got left in the shite !!

The first 18 months were great under Bruce.
After we lost Bent, we failed to replace him adequately and things went to shit, we seemed to be plagued with injury problems which seem to follow Bruce everywhere. His constant deflection in the build up to him getting the sack and subsequent whinging massively soured things.

I thought he had us going in the right direction. I reckon we'd have gone up the following year if we'd stuck with him. We almost did the 1st time.
There was absolutely nothing that second second season to suggest we’d go up that season. Almost isn’t good enough with the team he had available.

We did but he also had the most ambitious SAFC we've ever seen ownership wise.
I also don't see what people see in Ross, he was shite with the squad we had, consistently bailed out by Maja and McGeady.
The squad was shit to be honest. We raked in some decent fees and in theory had parachute payments still, yet only signed onien, Wyke and Baldwin for a fee in the first window. We had no scouts for over a year bar cotton who was ill and at home. We were lucky maja was such a suprise. There was a lot of upheaval and two muppets above him mouthing off all the time, doing podcasts or talksport interviews disclosing stuff that should never come out. Our signings were generally awful.
