Gooch (Scapegoat)

I’d argue his style of play is less goat and more one of them little dogs you get who like to bark at the big dogs but then shits a brick when one comes near it.

Anyone else think this lad is becoming a bit of a scapegoat?
No, he gets blamed because he ruins move after move.

I'll give him plenty of credit - he often does lots of good things too and he never stops working and never hides from the game - but unfortuantely this usually means that he is on the ball a lot and then you see his failure after failure to do anything with his final ball.

He runs down dead ends far too often and he loses the ball far too often, regularly when we're in really good positions.
Of course, from time to time things do come off for him, but that's due to sheer numbers of chances he gets.

He's basically just a very enthusiastic, but all round poor footballer. Reminds me of me.

We spend too much time pissing about with the ball in our own half rather than concentrating on what wins you games.

It’s embarrassing the amount of times we pass backwards and sideways, Doncaster didn’t even have to do much yesterday to win.

Gooch probably gets grief more because he doesn’t hide.

He is probably the most frustrating player I've watched play for us. He makes the same mistakes over and over in terms of taking 1 touch too many and generally picking the wrong options and it's easy to see why fans are on his back as he plays the same game pretty much on repeat.

He's regressed if anything, the longer he has been here and how he is starting every week is beyond me. Just drop him for the benefit of everyone, including the lad himself.

Not the greatest player in a red and white shirt, but when he is having a poor game at least he is prepared to roll up his sleeves and graft (as he did yesterday). My problem is that the so called flare players (Embleton and Neil) are not prepared to do this, if they were, they could perhaps have played their way back into the game yesterday, instead of getting hooked off like the two lazy gits they were.

Again, he did hide when he ran straight down the tunnel at full time

Or you could be a man and prove them wrong;)
We have too many flaws in our game, you don’t always take notice of stuff as much as you do watching in the house.

Me dad said when we were 1 down he got that sick of seeing us passing the ball back to the keeper he just turned it off.

I suppose you could say Hoffman made him go in the huff man.
