Gone off again in... France

Nobody is excusing offensive and drunken chanting. The point is the evidence firmly indicates that the Russians have come organised and with intentions. You think a few tasteless songs by drunken buffoons would make any difference to whether or not the Russians were going to target English supporters?

"Here Vlad, they're all sipping chianti and nibbling cheese with jumpers tied around their shoulders whilst discussing last week's village fete. Let's not bother kicking fuck out of them after all eh?"
Ok, so English fans behaviour in the port area of Marseille on Thursday, Friday & early Saturday was harmless high jinks, nothing more. The Russians were/are brutal, who is surprised by this?

No man, you're missing the point completely. Nobody is condoning the actions of a certain section of our support. What people are concerned about is the pre-meditated and organised levels of violence the Russians have gone to France with and got away with.

I'm against hooliganism when innocent people get hurt, however when its ours versus the others its only natural you want our side to win. I cant understand why some posters seem to want us to lose ?
Plain to see that there was a huge amount of planning went into the Russian attacks just look at the picture of about 100 of them all waiting down a side street with chairs over their backs ready to attack.
Its caught everyone by surprise not least the fans over there, however now everyone knows how they work I'm betting that the remaining ones out there and the new lads going out will be a lot better organised/ stick together and by shear numbers alone the Ruskies wont be getting as much joy.

I don't want England to 'lose' as such, I don't really give a fuck. I just find it all sad and embarrassing.

On several occasions English fans have also been guilty of this. I've seen it.

The Russki's, along with most foreign hoolies, see the English as the holy grail/founders of hooliganism. It's noticeable how these things are allowed to go on at club and international level with seemingly little done by FIFA and UEFA in other nations but England appear to have draconian measures in place to discourage this here.

The Russians are clearly the chief instigators but reports of our fans singing Isis songs isn't exactly helping matters either mind.
Quite how Russia have been given World Cup beggars belief really.
how is this an issue? Are the Isis fans annoyed by this? Can someone please explain? Or are they Isis blew up your plane based?

How given the security operation have Russian fans been able to bring in pyrotechnics ski masks etc?

What measures do we receive that they dont?

I was listening to 5live today and there was an English fella on who spends a lot of time working in France.

He said according to the French media the reason the French are so pissed off with us and the Russians is the lack of respect both have shown to France as hosts by their behaviour whether it be organised violence or anti social behaviour.

He also made some good points about Marseille in general and their hooligan element and the fact that 'ultra' type factions are banned from attending away matches (I'm not quite sure how they do this) so domestically these days their coppers don't have to deal with keeping violent home & away fans apart and aren't prepared in the way ours might be.

Well it's hardly the song of choice for people looking to have a nice drink and gentle sing song is it? What the fuck has Isis got to do with a football tournament? Being in France then celebrating as if we'd scored ourselves when Romania equalised not exactly going to endear ourselves to locals either really is it? Yes neither are an excuse for violence but let's face it if a load of mags came into a boozer in Sunderland and started celebrating when someone scored against us it would cause a rumpus.
Russians are certainly the most guilty from what I've seen and read but anyone thinking the English are just innocently caught in crossfire are being very naive.
So no relevence at all then.

UEFA wash their hands of owt that doesn't happen in a ground, and class it as a police matter rather than football.
