Generalising all English fans. All muslims now terrorists?
No, not all Muslims are terrorists, not all England fans are feral morons, not all Russians are psychopaths. again, look at the coverage before the Russians turned up, would you call that high jinks? Or provocative, purile & embarrassing behaviour?

Have you been to an England game abroad? It's absolutely predictable, gangs of little double hard kids thinking its 1980, thinking its 'Green street' or A N Other shite football film, they're the f***ing idiots.

I can't see you saying not all English fans once there.

Seems to be the order of the day next door.
Dinner or Breakfast?

Dinner or Breakfast?
I can't see me saying ALL either.

The whole ‘stealing flags and posing with them upsidedown’ thing puzzles me.

There must’ve been about 400 England flags knocking about Marseille over the weekend. And I’m seeing pics on the internet of a group of Russians with 4 England flags as some sort of ‘victory parade’.

Grow up man.

It’s like stealing a pint glass from a pub and declaring that you’ve singlehandedly brought down the whole brewing industry.

I'm against hooliganism when innocent people get hurt, however when its ours versus the others its only natural you want our side to win. I cant understand why some posters seem to want us to lose ?
Plain to see that there was a huge amount of planning went into the Russian attacks just look at the picture of about 100 of them all waiting down a side street with chairs over their backs ready to attack.
Its caught everyone by surprise not least the fans over there, however now everyone knows how they work I'm betting that the remaining ones out there and the new lads going out will be a lot better organised/ stick together and by shear numbers alone the Ruskies wont be getting as much joy.

Nobody is excusing offensive and drunken chanting. The point is the evidence firmly indicates that the Russians have come organised and with intentions. You think a few tasteless songs by drunken buffoons would make any difference to whether or not the Russians were going to target English supporters?

"Here Vlad, they're all sipping chianti and nibbling cheese with jumpers tied around their shoulders whilst discussing last week's village fete. Let's not bother kicking fuck out of them after all eh?"

I fail to see the relevance. In what way did that goad people into fighting and who was offended by it?
Well it's hardly the song of choice for people looking to have a nice drink and gentle sing song is it? What the fuck has Isis got to do with a football tournament? Being in France then celebrating as if we'd scored ourselves when Romania equalised not exactly going to endear ourselves to locals either really is it? Yes neither are an excuse for violence but let's face it if a load of mags came into a boozer in Sunderland and started celebrating when someone scored against us it would cause a rumpus.
Russians are certainly the most guilty from what I've seen and read but anyone thinking the English are just innocently caught in crossfire are being very naive.

There's a whiff of admiration running through this thread. Talk of military style discipline and songs about German bombers. Good Lord man, we're a million miles away from the defenders of Stalingrad and the lads who stormed the Normandy beaches here.

I agree. I find the whole concept of football violence abhorent. In this situation, it is the incompetence of the French authorities, the brazen ineptitude of UEFA and the unsubstantiated demonisation of England supporters in the media that I also find abhorent.
