Gone off again in... France

Got a link? I'd be surprised if us and the mags joined together mind. Even for England.

His Facebook page is private where only friends can view it. He's not a bullshitter though and certainly not a hooligan himself or someone who revels in it. Quite the opposite in fact and he'll go out of his way to avoid trouble. Also the location on his post stated he's in Lille so I'm certainly not doubting him.

Just seen a post on facebook from someone out there saying SAFC and NUFC casuals have mobbed up together in Lille last night and battered some Zenit St Petersburg Ultras. Also saying a group of Leicester and Stoke fans going around looking for Russians. I'd be amazed if nobody is killed out there (other than that poor NI fan) because the French police haven't got a clue.
I guarantee you won't see the same group of russians again

It was inevitable that this was going to happen ! you poke a dog with a stick and it will bite you.....well we've been poked!!!

it is a very harsh lesson in life. dont throw things and especially at police. the item is irrelevant it is the intent

The item isn't really irrelevant is it mate? In fact the item is the primary focus. It can cause no harm whatsoever.

Is a balloon worthy of the same punishment?

Maybe a chip?

What about a paper aeroplane?

It is indefensible.

2 months jail time for throwing a polystyrene cup after being tear gassed and attacked by locals, while systematic Russian attacks go unpunished.

The French police are a f***ing joke

Mods put this in parsnip if we are going to start implicating different firms in violence and revenge attacks. Feds will be loving information given away on football forums.

I said it is harsh but at the end of the day why throw anything at the police. just stupidity. he has been made a scapegoat no doubt

When you've finished your A levels, why don't you get your teeny tiny head out of your arse and Newcastle and actually come and see a bit of the world. France is running a very good Euros - I know, I'm actually here. The French have been shitting it in case there's another Bataclan style attempt on a stadium or fanzone, with a huge security operation geared up at preventing it. I for one am very grateful. Twattery by fans is a distraction. The cup throwing numbnut should consider himself lucky, the courts gave an Aix en Provence bloke a year.

The Russians are clearly there to make a statement and they know that they'll never get a better chance than this. I was reading last week that there's 150 mags banned from travelling and best part of 50 of our lot. So that's 200 well known hooligans just from the 2 clubs up here who have been stopped from travelling. It must equate to 1000s across the entire country and the Russians have taken advantage big style.

Thanks for the condescension Janie, appreciated.

They are a f***ing joke, it's hardly a controversial point.

They have repeatedly failed to prevent our fans getting attacked by both gangs of locals, as well as mobs of organised Russians carrying weapons both inside and outside the stadium.

That is not acceptable.

If it happened in England I would be saying the exact same thing.

2 months in jail for throwing a polystyrene cup and he should thank himself lucky? I'm going to refrain from calling him a numbnut because if I'd just been attacked by locals and then tear gassed by police as i attempted to defend myself, I reckon I'd be pretty pissed off with the police too.

I don't need to be a seasoned traveller (although I have seen plenty of the world outside Newcastle thanks for asking) to know that while our fans have behaved appallingly in previous competitions, the way they are being treat currently is beyond contempt.

Not a problem, fully deserved.

I am soft as shite and hate violence. I love the fact you can take your kids to matches and really enjoy the day out.

But.

I dont blame the English one bit for whats gone on the last few days, Singing does not warrent being gassed, yes the songs from a tiny few were a bit naughty but the reaction by the police was way over the top, it was after that the trouble started, so imo the poilce are to blame 100% for the start of the bother day 1.

Now add in the Locals having a go, followed by the Russains and what would you expect the english fans to do, it seems to me the English have reacted to whats happened but didnt start anything, but yet again its front page pictures showing what looks like the English starting trouble.

The police have failed the English support and instead of the UK media, FA and Goverment banging on for us to be calm and to stop causing trouble ( which we didnt start! ) they should be shouting from the roof tops asking why the fans werent protected, why flares were fired at the English fans in the ground, how they got them into the ground and why the fans were left with no protection in the ground after what had just happened that day!

These are the questions I want asked and I want answers to. The french police had a duty of care to the English fans which they have failed, more should be made of that fact instead of "roy" asking for calm, he should be asking about the players safety, that flare could have been fired at a player for gods sake.

Its a cluster and its not on that the french police are trying to deflect blame onto the English. The french police have failed big time as shown by the trouble in many areas involving many sets of fans, the buck stops with them full stop, they had years to prepare for this.

I dont blame any English fan that now decides it safer to hit first ask questions later, after watching the videos on here its safe to say no one else is going to protect them, not the french police thats for sure!

Because I think the police are a joke I'm narrow minded?

Nice, expected better of you to be honest.

The fact remains that the police have repeatedly failed to protect England fans from being attacked, and also failed to identify a single one of those responsible, and instead chose to get a few 'scalps' I.e drunk English folk throwing stuff instead.

Irrespective of the current climate in France, if the police force are unable to prevent innocent people getting attacked on multiple occasions, then I'm gonna reserve the right to call them a f***ing joke, because they are not fulfilling their duties.
