Golf 2021

Anyone golfed in Turkey? Looking at an extended family holiday for next year where the lads can enjoy the golf whilst the ladies do more of they do, lie around a pool and that type of thing.

Belek area seems to be very popular. Anyone done something similar? Focusing on Turkey as it seems to represent the best value for money. I’m open to other suggestions though, looking for that sweet spot of value for money and golf facilities.

Cheers in advance 👍
Me Marra who I golf with in the costa Del sol and villamoura raves about Belek.

We've done Belek about 8 times staying in 3 different hotels.
Always just lads with us but plenty families always there when we have been.
We've stayed at Sueno, Cornelia Diamond and Regnum Carya.
Sueno and Cornelia are very good but the Regnum is the best hotel I've ever stayed anywhere. They constantly update the place and it's absolutely class but the prices now reflect that since first opening and it's probably priced us out of it now.

Mates of ours have also stopped at Titanic and Gloria and said they are also of same standard as Sueno and Cornelia.

There's really no bad hotels on Belek so long as you go 5 star. For us decision now comes down to whoever has the best deals and which courses are included.

We were due to go back last year staying in the Cornelia again but that got cancelled with Covid. Waiting for everything to get back to normal before we rebook.

One piece of advice I would give is avoid the Lykia Links golf course as it's a bit of a further trek to get to and they constantly seem short of buggies.

If you have any specific questions just give me a shout.

Cheers mate - plenty to start Googling there.

I’ve never booked a golfing/family holiday before. Do you get better deals through specialist golf break companies or are your Tui’s/First Choice package operators a better option?

We always book flights separate and then use Bilyana for accomodation/golf. They are local agents and do everything from the minute you land. Also they are ABTA bonded so all covered.
Prices shown on the site are normally based just on golfers but if you give them a ring they'll give you a bespoke price to include non golfers (we sometimes have a few lads who come just for the drink).

Also they can add on extra golf rounds as deals are normally based round the course of the hotel you stay at.

Nice round today in very breezy conditions, 101 (3 under my guestimated 26 on slope and whs) was pleased with that considering the wind but the biggest highlight, finished with the same green ball I started with. Partner who is 22 got 130+.

Great, thanks again 👍

Anyone got golfpass? Just looking at golfnow and it's saying with a £99 annual golfpass membership you get a £25 credit each month for golfnow - that right? Seems too good to be true

Sadly not his driver wasn't working the wind beat him up bad and I had to throw him a ball as he ran out. FORE RIGHT!!! Boldon in 20-40mph winds felt like the Belfry but if you're offering to take me to TPC i'll have a dodge along.
Circa 35-40 shots over your handicap must be a world record, if you signed his card I’d send the fucker to Norris mcwhirter

lol yep strangely he only carded it on his app... and you are showing your age their with Norris and I am by knowing who he was. I genuinely felt bad for the lad as he can play to his handicap but after a few... well we've all had games we'd rather not have had and fair play to him he kept counting. Played South Moor the other week and I stopped counting after 9 holes and 7 balls.

We all have rounds like that, some (i.e me) more than others

I think you have to.
First game back last week hit 47 on each half which is good for me.
Disaster sat but managed 4,4,5,4,5 on 13-17.
Imo theres always a possitive somewhere in each knock, even if its just 1 fecking shot.

Presume youre on about Anthony whos brilliant for time played.

Was that at Throsten? The back nine is really gettable there even for high handicappers like myself. Brayed round it in 38 once and I'm a player whose over the moon if I shoot mid 90s normally

No bud one of the new members at Boldon. Anthony has smashed me both times we've played so far...he's going to be a very decent golfer hopefully he pushes me along with him. Saying that did card 3 pars and 2 birdies to so things starting to come together. Now I just need to get rid of the rest of the garbage.

Aye mate coming round to your way of thinking, just need to get through front 9 unscathed ffs!!!

First full round back today after 12 holes last Tuesday. Went round in 90, but that included an 8 on the card after lashing two over the fence on 14. It was bloody freezing on Boldon today like, right hand was numb after 12 holes...even with a winter mitt on 😂

Mrs and the bairn had their first lesson back today as well with Jack at the range, he’s got 10 lessons to get them course ready then it’s golf holidays shot to kill two birds with one stone 😜

Tough hole that 14th.
Two good hits to get near the green which when you get on it is like a helter skelter.

I went round in 83 today... However the last 2 holes were shut off as there was an ambulance there.

Question - I hit a shot and the ball finished on the branches of a tree. Do I get free relief or a penalty?
