Going to court... any advice

Yeah, that was my mistake. One I won't be making again, unless its something actually important rather than a f***ing window.

IIRC, much hated by the Democratic Minerworker's Union.
Hated by the NUM National Union of Mineworkers and probably not very popular with anyone that was in the UDM after what he did, although his accomplice managed to get away with it somehow

Obviously can't say much, but if I'm a key witness, theres not much of a case. If they are relying on my vague descriptions of people and places, the accused need not worry. He'll be getting off scot free! I can almost hear the cross examination now.

"Can you describe the person you saw"
"He had arms, and was between 5 and 7 ft. He definitely had a head. I remember it clearly. He had a head"
"And what was he wearing?"
"Clothes"
"Can you describe them for me please?"
"Not really"
They’ll be struggling for a conviction. So they tell the defence lawyer they have x amount of eye witnesses hoping that the lawyer advises the perp to change their plea.
Look at previous posts, “I turned up and they changed their plea to guilty”.

I had to go to court as a witness for a criminal damage case against a lass I’d been shagging a few months before.

Basically she ended up being a right psycho, I caught her going through my phone so naturally I binned her off and she ended up taking her frustration out on my car! 😳🙈

She changed her plea to guilty the day it got to court so thankfully I wasn’t called in the end.

In one last ditch attempt to get back at me she later tried to claim that she was pregnant and that the bairn was mine. Good job I’m good at maths as I’m sure a 13 month pregnancy is impossible! 🙄

If anyone reading this is ever in this position, contact Citizens Advice (as per the letter you recieve). They put you in touch with the National Witness Service who are brilliant

Answered all my questions, offered a load of advice and were brilliant.

A lot of the service is aimed at high drama, high risk cases (which mine isnt) but they speak to you as if it is.

Well impressed

Precisely why the defence will want you in the stand.
