They could be in a pub in Seahouses but open the door and the Tyne Bridge will be in the background.

Par for the course. In the film Get Carter they are on the staithes at North Blyth and they run onto the beach. Next thing is they are at the hopppers at Blackhall Beach - a canny run of about 35 miles.

I'm not watching Goal - there hasn't been a half decent film about football imo. I find them tedious.

"Mike Basset England Manager" is an epic.

Nick Hornby's 'Fever Pitch' was a great film. The bit (at the beginning?)when the little lad, surrounded by grown-ups, saw the pitch for the first time reminded me of my first sight of Roker Park as I walked up the steps to the Fulwell end. Mind, all those years later I felt the same when I walked into the SOL for the first time. Breathtaking.

Edit. THe book was better.
