Glazers seeking to sell Man Utd

You forgot to mention how much they have paid themselves beyond the sale.
The reason debt is increasing has a lot to do with the massive wedge they are taking out.
yes they and the other cshareholders paid themselves dividends...as is very normal in business...
the reason debt rose last year is because the club lost money.

I think it depends on size of the club and what fans do to be honest.
Well Man Utd are the biggest club. Their fans couldn’t really have done more could they?
Had zero effect on the Glaziers ownership. Any thought that the current owners will be looking for a popular custodian is just plain daft. They will want top dollar. Whose wallet the dollars come from will be totally irrelevant.

under uk company law...directors are oblihged to act in the best interests of shareholders,.,.and therefore get the best price available. its a legal obligation.
Its interesting that jim o neil doesnt want in this time, he tried in the past to take it over.

Think the smaller the club sometimes the more fans can influence things as the give higher percentage of incoming cash. However United nay have some supporters in high positions externally which could also help

Shareholders will want the best financial deal. Not the best moral deal nor the deal that is favoured by Norman from Salford.
the legal obligation on the directors is to get the best deal acvcording to the criteria of shareholders. Thats what the UK Companies act requires. No other consideration is relevant in law.

Not that they need exposure but Man Utd would be a perfect vehicle for worldwide advertising for Apple.

Thats a strange one, if they wanted it they would get it I imagine
The only assumption I can make is to have Manchester United as their global advertising brand, although I don't know how much sense this theory makes in the context of Apple sales vs competitors in markets outside the USA.

Stateside I imagine it wouldn't be worth them buying a US sports franchise as every potential customer knows who they are already. Perhaps they could also capitalise on an increased interest in football in that market for the club though, particularly with the 2026 World Cup being held across North America.

Is it possible the Glazers already knew about the Apple interest and why they went public with this?
if they did...they would HAVE to, under stock exchange rules go public..The Glazers dont own all or even most of the shares in UTd..so have to inform the entire shareholder base.

It's possible, if I remember correctly the USA doesn't have takeover rules for listed companies like those in the UK, so talks may have been held beforehand.

Not in the USA as far as I can remember, or are Man Utd dual listed?

you could be wright about that. I dont know the US rules and Man UTd are only listed there.
would also explain the share price jump if the dodgy traders had news in the wind
the jump happened after the first news story broke.
yeah but we all know these ****s dont care much about rules
of course they care about stock exchange rules...they arent stpid enough to break those..

Manchester and the North West in general is full of potential property and land opportunties. Only have to look at what Neville, Giggs et al have done over the past few years.
have neville and giggs done anything on a big scale?
neville ha smuch mouth but not sure he ever does much of anything.
The M

utd come with aassociated costs of redeve, oplijng the stadium though..

As do the Mags. If they want to significantly increase the Shittip. There's listed buildings left right and centre on Leazes Terrace and St James' Terrace so they can't build outwards on the East Stand and the Leazes and Milburn stands are already pretty much done up to maximum capacity.
