Glazers seeking to sell Man Utd

If Ashley didn’t want to sell it wouldn’t have happen. I do take your point about MBS though. Fact is the Anti Ashley brigade tried to force him out for years. Made no difference whatsoever. The likes of Wraith and that knacker in Dubai can tell themselves what they like. They had no bearing on the sale happening.

Well hopefully Man United and Liverpool get oil merchants so the Mags will become the poorest rich people at the golf club.

Maybe they see a window of opportunity

Where’s my Kenny Jacket ?!

If it is a 100% sale then they will be queuing up. Biggest Club in the richest league in the world.

I realise you are on a wind up however anyone who really believes the fans, even the great Mr. Wraith, brought about the sale is naive at best.
Ashley wanted it. He employed a top class legal team to make it happen.
I think it depends on size of the club and what fans do to be honest.

If the Dubai lot want Man United, they'll get them. I cant see it going to anyone other than oil them from a far away land.

If Chelsea worth 4.5B so is Man Utd ….. I see these clowns want 2 times that amount. at that price they really are not interested in selling.

I dislike Newcastle but there are clearly putting pressure on the top of the PL pyramid thus they both want out….
Naaah. They’ve seen the Super League isn’t guaranteed and the price paid for Chelsea should be beaten by both so gives a nice tidy profit. Plus the mags.
PSG will be up for sale soon. The “votes for CL contention” deal is almost finished next month.

How much more growth can be expected over the next 10 years? As mentioned above the Middle East countries aren’t spending to turn a profit they’re trying to buy a clean slate.

Journalist Sam Wallace also reckons that. Also that the Glazers weren't happy 'project big picture' didn't happen.
I'd imagine they weren't as an American style closed shop league as always the goal, and without that happening risks such as not qualifying for Europe and (less likely) relegation remain with only limited opportunities available to increase revenues.

It will be interesting to see the reaction of the supporters this time round if a sports washing empire comes along. All in all I found the majority of the fan base pretty apathetic during the campaign against the Glazers in 2005 (and Murdoch previously).

Times have moved on. Back in 2005 the club didn’t really need rich owners, they could self generate enough revenue to stay at the top without owners needing to pump in cash. Fast forward 17 years and it’s now almost impossible for any club, including Man Utd, to self generate enough cash to compete with nation states. I doubt any single investor who wants to turn a profit with the club can keep them competitive, particularly when you consider the ground and training facilities need a massive uplift.

I hope I’m wrong but I have a feeling the fans in general will turn a blind eye to dirty money this time around as they realise they won’t compete with Saudi and Abu Dhabi money without it.

Chelsea went for 3bn, assume Man Utd at least 5bn. The Glaziers bought the club for 800m. The lump sum was borrowed & they used income from the club to pay it off
Me thinks they ain't finishing up in the poor house anything soon
You forgot to mention how much they have paid themselves beyond the sale.
The reason debt is increasing has a lot to do with the massive wedge they are taking out.

Chelsea went for 3billion. How much bigger and potentially more lucrative/ successful are man United.
utd come with aassociated costs of redeve, oplijng the stadium though...as have a lot of debt whereas abramavhich got the people he borrowed the chelsea money from to forget about the debt they were owed..

powners saw how much chelsea went for and realise now could be a good time to sell.
