Glazers seeking to sell Man Utd

Surely it's worth more than that. The playing squad is probably worth close to 1 billion.
The FT article I linked after Hetton's post is in dollars, but a quote from it-

"Lex’s own calculations suggest the club is worth around $1.6bn and even the current enterprise value of $4.5bn implied by United’s share price would require unfeasibly high growth in revenue and profit to justify."

The costs of refurbishing Old Trafford and Carrington are estimated to be as high as £1.5bn, and there are questions about how is it possible to monetize the massive global fan base the club claims to have. That all said it has scarcity value, i.e. there is only one Manchester United, land around Old Trafford for development and the potential for new digital revenue streams in it's favour. Ultimately it is worth whatever AL-tHANI AND Ratcliffe are willing to pay, and will almost certainly go for a lot more than £1.3bn if a complete sale of the club is made.

For S&G I looked up Musk's earnings per day. $383m per day from the year 4/20 to 4/21. He could pay off the purchase price in a month. I’m not saying he’s buying it, just a reference on how billions of dollars grow almost uncontrollably. Oil states see a future of electric vehicles and the downturn of oil dependency. Without that they will become irrelevant and need to have something to show for their run of fortune.
I feel that, as I’ve said here prior, that LIV golf and the impending right to work lawsuit is a litmus test. If the players are successful the gates are open for other sports (ESL) to follow.
These mega purchases are nothing to do with a quick buck.
These are the ramblings of a fixed income pensioner.

This is a good idea. "Let one of the biggest clubs in the world be taken over by the state of Qatar." Cant see that opening a can of worms down the road or anything.

How the fook do u get that deep in shit? My bank sends me a txt when i am getting close to zero balance! Football is knackered!
A wise man once said, you owe a bank 100 quid its your problem you owe a bank 1bn quid its there problem

Annoyingly the Glaziers sell the club for 4bn they walk away with 3bn in profit
Bare in mind they didn't pay a penny for the club and purchased it through leveraging the income & only paying interest on the debt.

That's how capitalism works
