It wasn't the best film but I can't say it was that bad
Was it a PG? It really wasn’t a kids film like.
I watched it again a couple of months ago and was a bit shocked by the stark imagery of that line like.

There's not a chance it would make PG now. That line Alone, but the bit with the librarian and the taxi driver had me freaked out in the cinema as a bairn.
There was a big flaw in the ratings system back then which meant you had PG then 15 with nothing in between. A lot of films were either far too strong for their PG rating or far too low for their 15 rating. Big Trouble In Little China was rated 15
