Ghana 🇬🇭 v Uruguay 🇺🇾 FIFA World Cup BBC Two BBC iPlayer BBC Sport Website

Her career in women’s football was impressive but she’s a poor and lacklustre presenter and an even worse pundit. It must be so depressing for young people who study and train for a career in the media who see ex-pros with little talent dropping in to multiple jobs on TV. She’s on all sorts of stuff, The One Show, afternoon quizzes, Football Focus and on not one show does she come across as bright, engaging, entertaining or informative.
In your opinion, I personally find her no worse than the majority.

Over 90% of presenters are much of a muchness

And my comments don’t only apply to Scott but to plenty of ex-sports people who seem to slide into the industry easily despite not having any obvious talent in presentation, punditry etc.

The 90% of ‘much of a muchness’ is the result of narrow recruitment strategies and that’s why I said it must be awful for those who train and work hard to get a break in TV. TV would be much better for us all to enjoy if we reduced the ‘much of a muchness’ and the reliance on cherry picking ex-pros for plum jobs.
