October 2020 - Getting worse across Europe.

There is actually. Over here in Ireland different age groups are getting different vaccines. E.g, over 70s Pfizer, 60s AZ, 50s J &J, under 50s Pfizer. Over 70s are more or less finished now having got their 2 vaccinations. 50s are just about starting to get their one jab and they should be finished with that group in 10 days to 2 weeks. The 60S on AZ won't get their 2nd dose until August which means they won't be able to travel out of the country until end of August unlike everyone else who will be fully vaccinated long before that because they won't have to wait 12 weeks for 2nd shot. Thats assuming that the travel requirement to enter another country is to be fully vaccinated.

Live in Newry - the amount of Southern cars is mad. Not supposed to be going out of the county?

Germany changes its mind on AZ.

Germany Thursday opened up the use of the Oxford/AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine for everyone over the age of 18 in order to speed up immunization efforts, Health Minister Jens Spahn announced.

In, Out, In Out that's what it's all about.

I dont think anyone should base advice on immunisation schedules on an individuals holiday plans

Its a health policy and the evidence would suggest AZ is best delayed as it seems to be more effective

What a mess  Onwards and upwards for them.

The news coming from Europe is getting more upbeat lately with much better vaccination numbers.

Spain has reached its first Covid-19 vaccination goal: to have five million people vaccinated with the two doses required for full protection by the first week of May.

Get them jet engines fired up ........ where’s me flip flops .......?

The European Union agreed on Saturday to a massive contract extension with Pfizer-BioNTech for a potential 1.8 billion COVID-19 vaccine doses through 2023.

The new contract, which has the backing of the EU member states, will entail not only the production of the vaccines, but also making sure that all the essential components should be sourced from the EU.

Excellent stuff.

It's been slowing down in Poland but still poor figures daily.

Croatia will surpass the UK tomorrow
Yes cases have dropped dramatically but the deaths are a hangover from earlier in the wave.

Fauci in USA saying number over there likely to be under counted by 50%.

I expect a few more to be revised over the coming years.

I’ve tended to pop in and out rather than following the likes of Poland in detail but I get the impression that they’re a bit like Russia and are plodding along with remarkably similar stats each day, Belgium and Hungary are the same
