Getting used to losing games again - will the SMB cope?

Think a lot on here have confused promotion to the championship with promotion to the Premier League where you have to spend obscene money just to have a chance at getting near 17th place.

The clubs ambition will be far higher than finishing 21st. £10m alone on players if spent widely would be more than enough for a playoff challenge
You raise a decent point tbf. Looking at average spend you're in the ball park but that's not factoring in the top six in the Championship already have a fair few better players than us, and will spend again.

 Some of whatever you’re smoking please. I will be equally astonished as delighted if we make a playoff push next season

He's right like, dunno why peopel are getting so offended

Its a big question

people talking about losing in the PL like it has any relevance to his point

this is the league beloew that
I've been on here long enough that I know that most threads have a bit of a herd mentality based on the mood of the initial posts. You get one or two who initially take offence and everyone starts rolling etc.

Maybe some don't like me taking a little snipe at the SMB's often self-referenced bi-polar extreme reactional nature, but we collectively got used to losing in the PL and people said they were happy to get out of it, now we'd have 4 seasons of pretty easy going weekends, even if we have failed to get promoted in that time.

I'm quite looking forward to every single point being a big deal again.

When we lose a few games next season is it the managers fault or the fans?? I forget whose turn it is to take the blame

In all seriousness I would be happy if we stayed around 8th bottom all next season never in any real danger of relegation and build on that following season. Anything more would be a bonus.

Anyone expecting more next season could be in for a shock

I do wonder if this place will cope in going from hearing the whistle at the end of the game and having an 80% chance of getting at least a point, compared to around maybe 20-30%.
Of course we won't. Guaranteed there will be a faction on here calling for AN's head within three months of the start of next season if he hasn't gone on an unprecedented unbeaten run. Additionally, the same group will have identified a new boo-boy to call 'shite' after each misplaced pass or mistake.

It's a fun forum.

I'd be amazed if we spend anything close to £10m like. Turnover will only increase by about £6/7m and most of that will be gobbled up by the wage increases in the players contracts before you even consider new signings.
