Getting used to losing games again - will the SMB cope?

You are right, but the first order of business for a newly promoted side is just to survive. We have seen Wycombe and Charlton go straight back down and there are some good teams in that division. But, I think our style of football is more suited to the Championship than Wycombe ever was and it should be a case of a few good additions to making the transition, rather than tear down and start again. Charlton was a bit mental off the field.

A lot has been said about Speakman leaving us short in some areas, but the signings we did get were good ones. I hope Neil has listed the areas and type of players he wants to fill, and Speakman is already making initial contacts or looking at people for those areas. The two together have the potential to build a balanced squad of young quality. Do that and we should be comfortably mid-table. I don't think we have enough for promotion.
We’ve been left short season after season for years.
Loan players, players out of contract, there’s far more dealing needs to be done than the good old days where you’d sign just a couple possibly 3 per closed season.

You’re looking at half a match day squad if not more every season.

Since we've been in league one we have lost on average about 9 games per season.

In that time we've played 174 league games, which means we've lost 35 times or 20% of all of our games over 4 seasons. To put it another way, we've gained points in 80% of our games.

To put this into perspecitive, the team that finished 10th in the Championship this season lost 15 times, once you get down to 17th in the Championship you start to hit around 20+ loses

In theory, we'll be losing in matches where it could be much more even between the two sides and could actually be 'good quality' games of football, but I do wonder if this place will cope in going from hearing the whistle at the end of the game and having an 80% chance of getting at least a point, compared to around maybe 20-30%.
No

He's right like, dunno why peopel are getting so offended

Its a big question

people talking about losing in the PL like it has any relevance to his point

this is the league beloew that

This pivotal transfer window will be our biggest insight yet to our owners intent and credentials; financially & within a competence framework. I'd expect staff have been burning the midnight oil for at least a month to cover all eventualities, and subsequently we have a robust, thought out recruitment policy than can begin in earnest.

Anything short would indicate negligence.

You do the match thread goals, it's your responsibilty to make sure we don't lose ;)

Thanks by the way, your efforts have been invaluable.

No. It's a massive knee jerk reaction on here when we lose. The players are rubbish, sack the board, the cleaners, the coaches, the tea lady.
We win and some are planning their champions league trips away.

Think a lot on here have confused promotion to the championship with promotion to the Premier League where you have to spend obscene money just to have a chance at getting near 17th place.

The clubs ambition will be far higher than finishing 21st. £10m alone on players if spent widely would be more than enough for a playoff challenge
