Well this is it but a lot of people seem to want to spend everything they have in time for payday. Some folk see money as needing to be spent rather than just buying stuff you actually need.
Our UK staff have requested to be paid the week before Xmas, madness to me
If it means they enjoy their Christmas a bit more then fine by me. If it means a boring January doing nowt as a result, then so be it.
It's not something I've requested before mind, but fortunately I've not needed to.
I wish we got paid on our normal day instead of having to suffer two 5 week months in January and February pretty much every year.
They'll be asking for advances in jan
Absolutely love Christmas me mind.
No I agree but I’d say you’re in the minority with being sensible.Nothing wrong with that if it doesn't get you into debt or arrears. I put money away every week, but as soon as something comes up that I want to buy, I'm dipping into my savings. I've earned it, I'll spend it.
This. It's to make sure people actually get paid at all, nobody will be around to administer the payments on 25-31st when most monthly paydays fall. I'd struggle to spend anything between getting paid on Christmas Eve and knocking off work at 4pm when the shops are shutting up!So payroll staff can have Christmas off?
Found out today that the people I’m working for are paying us on our normal last working day of the month in December. Few people were really pissed off where as I thought well done.
Never understood the point in getting paid early. It’s like it has come as a shock to people that Christmas is coming those who are annoyed. I personally don’t spend anymore money at Christmas than I do most the year and if people do they should be able to manage their finances to cope with the extra expense. They’ll only end up f***ing brassic in the new year anyway sponging off folk who don’t waste a load of money on minature spring rolls and prawn rings.
I certainly wouldn’t pay benefits early which the Nash actually do.
They will where I work.This. It's to make sure people actually get paid at all, nobody will be around to administer the payments on 25-31st when most monthly paydays fall. Out of interest what jobs do this? because I've had many in different industries and never once experienced thisAre you not finishing up before Christmas and going back after the New Year?
Nah I expect people to be able to work out manage their finances properly and not expect companies to pay them early. If they do get paid early not blow the lot and expect to be bailed out by people. I’ve seen how ridiculous people go on mid January not being able to pay bills or feed their kids etc because they’ve spent it all on absolute shite. You are defeating your own argument.
If you expect people to be sensible and plan ahead all year to have already saved for Christmas, then surely you also expect people to stagger the money from an early payday if they know it needs to last longer to the next one.
I’m off all over Christmas. Finish 20th and go back 2nd January.Out of interest what jobs do this? because I've had many in different industries and never once experienced this
Mine does. Break up 20th go back 6th.Out of interest what jobs do this? because I've had many in different industries and never once experienced this
