You also have to remember that many people who depend up on the food bank can't afford the fuel to cook- yes it's as bad as that - so food that can be heated quickly helps.They only give out long life food as they haven't got the facilities to store fresh food and they build up a stash to last for a while.

I've just ordered some of the stuff they asked for & added it to our weekly supermarket delivery for the family. Some of the stuff the food bank requested seems a bit odd to me, but I guess they know what they're doing & who they have in mind to benefit.
