Gelhardt

Changed the game when he came on as it allowed Pritchard to play a deeper role and find more space.

Did well on the ball yesterday, works his socks off every game, and I'm gutted for him more than anything that the loan hasn't worked out as well as expected. Hopefully can pick up a few crucial goals in the run in.

The formation changed the game, and I beg to differ that he works his socks off in every game. The lad was signed to score goals, unfortunately his goal return has been very poor.

So how come he still misses easy chances? Regardless of position he’s being asked to play, he should put them away. Some of the misses have been really poor.
I think his confidence is shot to hell. Personally reckon he’d be a really good attacking midfielder. Plays more to his strengths. He’s pretty quick, closes down well, good passer. Don’t think he has a natural striker’s instinct like Stewart.

He is a good player, but he just does not have the explosive pace over a couple of yards to play the role he is being expected of here.
It is quite obvious when he has had chances but was unable to get on the end or get there before a defender.
His general game and work rate is very good.
Give him a break.

He’s better than you’re giving him credit for. That performance yesterday made me think of Dean Saunders.

Gelhardt was not as bad as he usually is but is still not a footballer, his first touch is horrendous and is easily muscled off the ball when diminutive Michut is much better at retaining posession. Gelhardt has no speed or positional sense either. He just does not have the basics

Saying he doesn’t have the basics is bullshit.

He’s a type of striker that doesn’t play with his back to goal. Watch him off the ball, he makes the right move a lot of the time.

We have wingers who like to hang onto the ball. Not necessarily a bad thing, just doesn’t suit him.

Do the people who want Gelhardt to come back next season think that he is the best we can get ?

O9 always looks to move the ball quickly and, forward.
When we play with tempo we look really good, but when we don't, we look awful eg Cardiff h and a good portion of ydays game.
He just can't be left out when available as crucial to us.

He always ups the tempo and tends to play forward whenever he gets the chance rather than sideways, he will be crucial in these last 4 games.

12th would be an appalling return given the squad available and the talent we have on the pitch week after week. I said before the season we should be finishing 4-8th with a serious contention for a playoff spot and I stand by it. I don’t see why anyone would accept there being 11 clubs in this dumpster league better than us, and think that we’ve done a good job. Say we win 2 draw 2 and finish 7th, then that’s an acceptable season, but if we draw 2, lose 2 and finish 12th, that would be a really bad season imo
Squad available? You’ve got to be taking the piss? We haven’t had a striker for 3/4 of the season and have 7 long term injuries.
