Gary the Hair

He was second in charge of the Conference & Banqueting when I worked there years ago. I also know somebody who worked closer with him in the years of the gigs.

Neither of us speak highly of him, Not that he will care as people like him never do. Only shame was he made it to such a position at our club when he didn't like football IIRC.
Didn't act like he worked his way up from being a glass collector, like he did.

Plenty of stories how appallingly he treated some staff, while having his little cliques who he’d wine and dine.

The actions of one define an entire group iirc.

See Rogerson, Barry

Seriously though, it was quite a few

Weird, I read on here a few days ago that lasses who get objectified are secretly buzzing and should wind their neck in and find another job if they are getting harrassed in their place of work.

Read the thread, people are rightly vilifying his wrong behaviour.
I wouldn't believe some people views on here as a lot are subversive posters masquerading as Sunderland fans

Looks like everything he touched turned sour .

Lost £267,000 in five months at Fat Buddah , someone needs to have a look into his capabilities as a company director.

Think you might've been there the same time as me then.

I got it direct from someone ITK at the SOL - I can’t remember the exact figures but the profit on those gigs was pitifully small due to his mismanagement.

Heard some other stories illustrating what a dick he was such as getting bladdered at a casino the night before Wembley and leaving his jacket with all the VIP tickets in there. Up at the crack of dawn and luckily the cleaners were there to let him in to retrieve it.

Blagged his way into a position of high authority and responsibility but still acting on like a pissed up teenager.
With all his little friends!

the amounts falling due to creditors within one year was £642,752.

Ouch.

Whoever supplied those pork related canapes aint getting paid.
 53k a month.
Some fecking carnage left behind there like.
All sorts of suppliers. Bad shit. Surely been insolvent for most of that year.

I also briefly worked in the Conference & Banqueting team for a bit when Gary was number 2. In all honesty, as a bloke I didn't really like him but as a boss he was perfectly alright with me.

Try and look at it from the other perspective. Lad from Castletown worked his way from glass collector to a company director who brought Bruce Springsteen to the SOL. Blokes not all bad. (I personally have no knowledge or experience of him being inappropriate to any of the girls, in all honesty I thought he was gay).

Well I can only take as I find. My opinion of working with him was that he didn't 'work' as hard as you say. He held little respect for the people under him and on occasion changed rotas so staff traveled to work just to be told they were not working.
After I left I was told of ventures he started then left others to do the heavy lifting when he got promoted.

As I say it was a long while ago, and I really enjoyed my younger years there in the sports bar etc, But the bloke was a tw@ to work with.

Christ, hard to believe we failed to make a profit from all those sell out crowds etc -wtf happened there?

I believe the way it works is the club pay the act x amount of cash. The act then leaves all ticketing, marketing, policing, stewarding etc. to the club.

If you've negotiated a bad deal on your payment to the act or balls up the running of the day then that is how you'll lose money.
