i never said ballance shouldnt be in the side, he has done agreat job since coming in. should never have been chucked in to the pyjama stuff but there you go..

trott is unlikely to play in the ashes i absolutely agree so what is the point in wasting test matches playing him as an opener?

all implied is we are desperate for an opener who can score runs and take some pressure off cook so he can get back to his best and you keep stuffing unrelated stats down my throat.

The last point I agree with totally.

He is now what, over two years without a test hundred? Closing in on 40 innings? Give over man - he has a serious question mark over him, or at least should have.

England are at best a bang average test team and as has been mentioned countless times, have benefitted from a run of series which could not have been any better were they hand picked. That run of series is about to come to an end. We will find out over the next 12 months how good this team - and the players in it - actually are. I hope you are right to put them in this pedestal but suspect that come the end of the summer it will be a somewhat lower perch.

When have I done this? I am just not a negative idiot like you, who finds ways to criticise the team even when they win test matches. England are a decent side, better than most, and not as good as South Africa and Australia.

I am still waiting for those West Indies players, or for you do admit you were lying?

Haway mate, haven't got all night.

I have not once referred to "west Indies bowling reserves". You have completely glossed over the point about scoreboard pressure. West Indies bowling is piss poor at the best of times, but without their best players they are not in a position to even pressure a batting team into losing wickets; as they generally just do not have the runs on the board. Bearing in mind that WI even at full strength are the worst team of the proper test nations, I'm also struggling to see the point you are trying to make? Are you suggesting that Ballance and Cook should be proudly strolling about the Caribbean with big badges on saying "I hammered Marlon Samuels for 1.5 per over"?! It was only a few days ago we were led to believe that Devon Smith was better than Chris Gayle, so god knows what it is you are trying to convince yourself of.

As I've said, we'll find out how good England are soon enough. I genuinely hope they are as good as you seem to think.

No you don't, I really don't believe you.

All you should be doing is saying well played Gary Ballance, what a fantastic start to his test career, but you are picking at him, bizarrely questioning his run rate for some reason among other things.

You also seem to think that I think we are a world class side who will beat the Aussies, I have never ever said that, and I don't believe it.

If we get beat by Australia, it doesn't mean Gary Ballance and Root have been "found out", it means we were beaten by a better team. I accept that,t you don't.

But I realise that we only play the Aussies once every 2 years from now on at most, all these other series aren't just meaningless starters before we play them, this is literally what test cricket is, travelling to the West Indies, playing India in a 5 test series at home. That's test cricket.

You may not rate these series and have seemingly no interest in them or the results, but these are big series, important series, and to be winning in them is good to see.

India are the world's biggest cricketing nation, they may struggle with their bowling, but their batting lineup is full of some of the world's biggest names and talents, and we made them look ordinary.

By the way they did not look ordinary in Australia, they batted very well over there. A lot better than we did.
