Who knows. They weren't picked and we won. You can carp on and on and on but we won and we were solid against a more than decent team. Southgate got it right.

We were solid against an ageing but combative team. Southgate is blessed with a wealth of riches- but is miserly in spending that wealth. I hate these f***ing managers that know what the fans want (Foden/Grealish, etc) and deliberately do the opposite. A good manager has to combine solidity with flair.

Let's see what happens against the Scots.

You think Southgate didn’t pick Grealish to spite the fans?

He’d risk his job by picking a team on anything other what he thinks will get the job done?

Croatia created absolutely nothing from his flank. He played well.

It's almost like you have made your mind up before a ball was kicked.
I haven't mate, wouldn't mind him at RB but we need a LB at LB.

First half he was average, second half slightly better but as an attacking option he is poor at LB due to cutting back on his right.

Aah right so you want the manager to be swayed by the fans????

We won 1-0 with a good goal - but that has nothing to do with choosing a right back to play on the left when you have Shaw and Chilwell. What extra did Trippier bring that a natural left-footed player couldn't
Your argument would've been absolutely fair before the match. But on the other side of a victory and a clean sheet, it becomes a bit weak. What, we might've got 2-0 with Chilwell? Calling out the manager, when his big decisions like Mings, Phillips, Sterling etc all came good is a bit rich.

Last 10 mins he could have taken off Sterling and put on Grealish, fresh legs, control and ability to pass the ball into the spaces - Rashford would have appreciated it.

Christ, it appears some can't wait for us to fail.

Why bother watching England if winning bothers you this much.
