My potatoes are just showing leaves above ground now. Go on, give us some advice.
look at them and admire them with a sense of pride
keep 'em watered and keep your ears open for any risk of frosts, in which case mound soil over them.
No point earthing up till they get to about 6 inches tall

spotted some of mine peeping through yesterday, but my main triumph at the moment is ASPARAGUS !!!

love the garden me like, iv'e just come in from cutting the lawns cos a big jasper was chasing me ( prob liked my aftershave )

Just mowed the lawn in my new home for first time, took over an hour and I'm bloody knackered! With the garden being so big I needed 3 extension leads and even then didn't reach the end. How much do petrol lawn mowers go for?

nice one BM they look bloody great

never get quite enough in one go though and if you keep them in the fridge for a day or so they go a bit floppy.... lots more buds coming through so I live in hope.
Am excited - my first year of asparagus (wasn't allowed to pick it last yr)

wife does the flowers im learning about and doing the veg:cool:

Been out today pottering around.

Chives are going in something later tonight and got the rosemary coming through nicely.

Missed the planting time for garlic so thats ready for next year.

Will probs start a tomato plant in conservatory.

I like it more the older I get. No grass, all paving stones, so no lawn mowing, love watching the shrubs change and grow over the years, then each year just do plants/vegetables/herbs etc. I'm really not very green fingered though, I kill quite a few things. Lost my fuchsias and oleander over the winter. :-(
