Gardening thread 2020

Might as well kick the year off to see what everyone's plans are for their gardens this upcoming spring & summer.

I've got my first early taties chitting away to get a good early start in. Just got to work out the implications of bopping them out to France to plant out post January 31st. Are we ok while we're still in transition, or will Brexit throw a spanner in the works re: transporting live plants to & from the EU? I'm expecting the first few weeks that the customs bods on both sides will be stepping up their operations to get the message across.

Going to get some garlic bulbs and onion sets to take out as well.

Just had some potatoes delivered, earlies and main crop, onion sets due in the next few weeks. Garlic went in over the weekend. Think I’ll be concentrating on salads this year so rotations of leafs, spring onions, raddishes etc.

Onion seeds were set away last week.
The leeks will get sown in the next day or so.
I shall get some onion sets too.
I normally get those from Wilkinson as well as my seed potatoes.
Might get them in the next day or two.

Weeded my rockery and dry stone wall at the weekend.
Looking lovely and the Aubretia looks in good condition as is the heather and other trailing plants.
Snow drops already flowering as well.
Still got a high bank to weed and clear and looking forward to Spring.
