This is kind of what I’m looking for but one where you can switch on all the time.

Most security lights have an override, if you flick the switch off and on quickly (assuming it’s on a switch, if not the trip) it’ll stay on permanently. When you want to reset it you just need to switch it off and on again and it’ll revert to being on sensor.

I've a couple of these at 50W LED and they're more than enough for a large garden (20m x 50m). Had them 4-5 years, sound as a pound and cost next to nowt to run. Non PIR are a bit cheaper. I binned all the halogens, especially the 350W ones . These LEDs do a better job for my pocket.
