Found it very interesting.
Obviously two sides to every story so not taking everything as gospel but certainly worth a read.

Nothing to do with my opinion on KP, I really thought it was very childish

The criticism of Flower and Prior was just laughable, Flower is one of the best coaches we have ever had, and a good man

All he had to say was he didn't agree with his methods, not do a character assisnation

Yeah possibly agree regarding Flower but I do think he felt he was part of the little committee who decided to cut short his England career which I can understand him being bitter about.
The prior thing I found very bizarre but I do think he felt his "heartbeat" of team tag was unjustified whilst he was pretty much hung out to dry.
Still think it's well worth a read for anybody interested in cricket and has followed the saga.

You've been quiet.

You been moonlighting on moneysavingexpert.com?
quidco.

re the book. very interesting stuff imo. always felt prior was as described mind. as for flower, he is dour. plus down the line we are again lumbered with moores in charge.

prior wanted to be known as the big cheese and talked of himself as such.

did you read where flower sent pietersen home from the indin world cup then informed the media that he felt pietersen could have played on? if that is not character assassination i dont know what is.

I've read about half of it for nowt as an ebook. I don't read a lot but once I start I normally finish a book but not in this case. Combination of writing style and content, not a good read at all.

Bought it full whack in a train station. The usual, ghost written tripe you expect from a Sportsman's autobiography but with healthier doses of bitterness, egotism and toys being thrown out of the pram than normal.

Aye that happened like.

Say what you want about KP the player, wanting him in the team ,understand those arguments, but he behaves absolutely awfully, and has done throughout his career.

hardly. it reads exactly how he speaks.

just a shame as statistically he walks into any england side and that should be the real criteria for selection.

still lets look forward to moores, cook etc blasting the windies to bits before slaughtering the new zealnders and aussies in all formats this summer

i reeled off over a hundred pages straight off. strange seeing your and other comments re this as personally i think its good to read both sides of the story.

its a superior book to both strauss and swanns imo

To be fair I haven't read many cricket books, mostly football. I just couldn't get into it, a bit repetitive.

Yes, its a load of shite, already made that clear

He doesn't admit to any faults in the slightest, which is strange as he is clearly a flawed character

If you choose to believe what he is saying then......

Strauss's book is decent, not many anecdotes, but he firmly explains how he made England so successful and why, people seem to have whitewashed this sustained success from their memories.

he does admit to faults. have people whitewashesd pietersens part in strauss success?

Not at all, but KP talks like it was such a bad time for england and how bad flower was

Strange that the results were so good

It's another shite line spouted about the likes of vaughan than england didn't manage him well. Yes it went wrong in the end, but they managed him for a long time and very successfully too. They had every right to get rid a few times but didn't and he was a valuable contributor

Kp is just obviously bitter because his comments don't add up

Also regarding his contribution, you are spot on obviously, but cook has been just as valuable. Would people be kicking off if he was sacked and dropped, their form in the years previous were very similar, both on a downward curve.
