Johnson is respomsible for leaving India open, blame him. This is affecting younger people who are not vaccinated. How many lives are worth it or long covid. I do not want to spoil things it hasn’t been great for me. Our new Health Secretary is way iup in the finacial heirarchy, all about money. What do you want then? Stay in lockdown? People have been stuck in the house far, far too long now imo. Me, personally have been stuck in since October 2019, lost my job etc , then covid hit and it's been f***ing tough mate. Ended up in hospital for 5 days, lost it. Some people on here know about it but it's not a 'look at me' post this. I've been saying for ages that we still need to be on our guard but this news is a huge lift, be able to see lads off here who know me and stand next to me, have the banter of 15 of of my mates and family on the minibus going to the match..taking the piss out of each other, be able to take my lad to the Sol. It gives people something to cling onto and look forward to.
Grow a pair, it not as simple as that selfishness in the extreme. The End of Days variant ... Yet its not all that is it ?
Maybe the world will just be fine if we grow a pair get on with things as best and sensibly as we can
Went to watch Portland Timbers a few weeks ago, just after a round of restrictions had been lifted. It was 80% capacity, proof of vaccine (checks were pretty lax) to get in and masks optional. Even though in theory that should all be pretty safe and we have low numbers here it was a strange experience.
When we got in the ground far fewer were wearing masks than I had expected. What would normally be just the usual jostling/ close quarters moving through the concourse etc was a shock to the system having been away from people for so long……and seeing thousands mobbing each other, singing, no distancing etc. A weird experience, especially for something that used to be so normal.
We decided the damage (even though very unlikely there’d be any) was done by the time we got in the ground so we may as we just enjoy it. It’s general admission in the section we sit in so we just went toward the back where there was more space, and stayed in our seats, apart from a couple of essential beer runs.
All of this probably more down to my own personal feelings than any real threat but it was anxiety inducing. Won’t be going back for a while I don’t think. They won and it was a lovely warm evening, enjoyed being able to do it again but had my fill for a little while.
Going off topic anyway, we'll agree to disagree.Johnson is respomsible for leaving India open, blame him. This is affecting younger people who are not vaccinated. Not as far as I know….but I would say we have very high vaccination rates in Portland and Delta doesn’t seem to have arrived yet, so it’s a different scenario. We also aren’t doing much in the way of tracing cases to their origin. And has there been a huge uptake in cases?
I would not bet against the score, but just looking forward to the day.I am absolutely buzzing for our opening day 1-1.

Agree fully. Just got to be careful I suppose and especially if vulnerable. He had 3 really bad days last weekend but over worst. What do you want then? Stay in lockdown? I understand that mate and hope he's ok mate. But, imo, it's great news. Can't live in fear for the rest of our lives. People would crack up.

This. The government are great at manipulation though. We should have been doing this with cases as low as poss, not circa 25-30,000. “Freedom day”. Hard to argue against when people are desperate for normality. They’ve always wanted herd however and they’re now going to get it.I want to open up when its safe to do so. At the moment it isn't safe to do so.
SAFC ticket office should charge Sheff Wednesday fans the same price we pay for tickets at their ,for the return fixture..simple as!Reckon we'll get about 7000 for that although they have been charging some shocking prices for away fans in the Champ
I'm only halfway done myself, likes of me and him aren't statistically at much risk. If he's worried, he needs to make his own decision. And what of those not vaccinated yet? My son isn't.
Get the vaccination rate way up, and then think about it. My son isn't vaccinated. Lots of younger people are not vaccinated. Just wait a bit more until we're there, FOR GOD'S SAKE! Just masks in shops, on public transport... these aren't big asks.This. The government are great at manipulation though. We had a get out jail card with the vaccines, yet they seem to be doing their best to fuck that up too. Let’s see what happens. It’s happening so we can only hope for the best

Instead, we're playing 'chicken' with a mutating virus.

The vaccines have worked, look at the hospitalisations and deaths in this wave compared to the first 2. Well done to the nerds imo.This. The government are great at manipulation though.
