We are going to end up in another massive lockdown. An idiotic thing to do opening in a couple of weeks. I'm fuming!!!! I know 2 people who live in Sunderland who are currently really ill with covid after 2 positive tests just yesterday. They are both fully vaccinated. If any of them went to the match that would be covid spread to possibly tens of 1000s of people.

It just takes 1 person with covid to be at the match. Very dangerous.
Agree. I know a few as well. One ( brother in law) was very ill.

Agree. Bus ower it from Washington about 12. In Borough then walk ower bridge to Vic then ower sheepfolds bridge to ground......then it goes downhill :)
Usually in Sunland for 11:30.
A couple of quick pints in the Burton House, or The Ivy House, then over to the Railway Club for 1pm, followed by a walk over the bridge, full of pre match optimism, towards the ground, around 2:30pm.
Usually, the walk back over the bridge after the game, is a post match, dejected trudge, back to the Raily, for a couple of commiseratory pints. 😩

Let’s live in isolation for years instead then. If you don’t feel safe at the game then don’t go. What’s the alternative with globalisation?

I’ll be there and it’ll be bouncing. Can’t wait.

I want to open up when its safe to do so. At the moment it isn't safe to do so.

Spot on,everybody needs this, the match is something ive missed more than i thought i would.Anyone feeling unsafe its easy dont go.
Even if it risks everyone being put back into a massive lockdown like in 2020? All I'm saying is its too early.

i personally don’t see the alternative in a globalised society unless we close the borders and regulate who comes in and out. We can’t control how other countries do or don’t control the virus and in the likes of America it’s open season so what can we really do?

Just get yourself down and enjoy the footy. Everyone else is going to be doing the same.

Boris set to announce full stadiums allowed from July 19th without need for social distancing or mask wearing! So, be able for everyone to go to first game against Wigan. Absolute god send for me personally to get out and go back to the footy.!!!⚽⚽️ Be tremendous.

Get in away the lads 😎

By your reckoning then, safe=zero Covid. Which is never going to happen.

Great, what about the unvaccinated? herd immunity for children because they have said they are not going to be vaccinated. Not all will get away scott free.
Get a grip man, most the country had their vaccinations now its something were just going to have to live with

If people like you got their way with restrictions we'd be like

Logon or register to see this image
It is not as if they have a grip on the Indian variant, encouraging more variants, maybe one that will not respond to the vaccinated.

What do you want then? Stay in lockdown? People have been stuck in the house far, far too long now imo. Me, personally have been stuck in since October 2019, lost my job etc , then covid hit and it's been f***ing tough mate. Ended up in hospital for 5 days, lost it. Some people on here know about it but it's not a 'look at me' post this. I've been saying for ages that we still need to be on our guard but this news is a huge lift, be able to see lads off here who know me and stand next to me, have the banter of 15 of of my mates and family on the minibus going to the match..taking the piss out of each other, be able to take my lad to the Sol. It gives people something to cling onto and look forward to.

I understand that mate and hope he's ok mate. But, imo, it's great news. Can't live in fear for the rest of our lives. People would crack up.

Maybe the world will just be fine if we grow a pair get on with things as best and sensibly as we can
