Fulham v Spurs - BT Sport 1. 6pm KO

It’s var not the rule

Ref on the field gives the goals

It’s bollocks man
Its also the rule. If the ref had seen it he would have disallowed it
The attacker can't do anything about it.
And if it was a defender, or if it happened anywhere else on the pitch it also wouldn't be a handball. Its f***ing nonsense

It's the rule not VAR. The current rule is that if the ball hits an attacking player's hand during the build up to a goal, it's handball even if it's accidental. All VAR are doing is interpreting the rule.

Mate

The rule is the same without var

And the ref would never give it

It’s var and the cameras

The rules don’t change for the on field ref you know?

how can a handball decision change depending on who's hand it hits? That hits the defenders hand and it's not handball, hits the strikers hand, it's handball. Someone, somewhere has come up with this rule and thought it makes sense. Some people are scarily stupid.

This is the idiocy of the current hand ball rule.

It’s var

The ref doesn’t give that on the field and the rules the same there

It’s a load of bollocks there’s no need for a replay on anything

Come in due to arsehole arm chair fans
Aye but if the rule actually applied common sense, then VAR would still disallow it.

The issue has and always will be the people making the rules, and the referees who are not good enough in England.

You’re right in a sense, it’s just baffling to be fair mate. He can’t put his arms anywhere else, and if he does, they’re deemed an unnatural position

There’s absolutely zero chance a ref would ever give that live like

Sorry not having it

The rule is the same yes, the reason the on field ref didn’t disallow it, is because the referee never saw it. Otherwise it would be disallowed.

I get your point

But all this has started because of var

We never had this before var

It’s a direct result of var, simple as that

No matter what the rule is changed to, you’ll still get stupid decisions because of var

I was waiting for someone to say this. Was the handball given originally? No. Does the goal stand without VAR? Yes. Stupid rules like this don't exist without VAR because it's impossible to give them without watching them back.

VAR is there in part to spot things the ref has missed. The ref has missed it hitting Lamina's hand whereas VAR hasn't. The current rule is the issue here. VAR has massive flaws but it's not at fault here.

They more they tweak the handball rule, the worse they make it. That is somehow classified as handball as it leads to a goal. What fucked up reasoning. Then to add insult to injury you can then be given offside for your arm being the body part over the line

The lad is saying var doesn’t overturn it, var is just a replay, it’s the decision somebody is making that’s wrong.

Yeah but they keep changing the rule because of var that’s the point

None of this is an issue ifvar doesn’t exist

The rules already been changed twice because of it

This. The rule and common sense is the issue. Players get criticised when giving away a penalty for having their arms out, but goals get disallowed when his arm is alongside his body with no intention to alter the path of the ball? Madness.
