It’s not the same at all, that comparison doesn’t work

The rule got changed because of var

That’s not a pen before var even when the ref sees it

Sorry you’re factually wrong on this one
Yes but the reason it wasn’t disallowed in real time is because the referee doesn’t see it, not because he doesn’t deem it as handball.

It is if it hits his hand or arm.

not if it's accidental. Defenders arm needs to be an extension of the body. If it hits a striker's arm and results in a goal then the arm position doesn't matter. So lashing the ball against the defender's arm only works if the defender's arm is away from his body.

Haha mate

Before var that’s not a foul

I dunno how you can’t grasp that

They changed the rule for var

It’s got nothing to do with the ref seeing it

If the ref saw it al the way before var it’s not a penalty

It’s simple that’s a fact

What do you mean

VAR does not matter if the referee sees it because of the rule. The referee missed it, and it is then on VAR to use the rule to see if it should be disallowed. The job of VAR is to spot that, and it is the rule that disallows the goal. How can’t you comprehend that?

The rule changing because of VAR is a different argument.

VAR dont have one rule for defenders and a different one for attackers.

The rule changed because of var!!!!! Haha how aren’t you getting that?

Are you on the whacky backy?

Before var that’s not a foul

You do know that right?!?

not sure how the commentators can sit there and not say it’s a complete joke, wouldn’t be able to keep it in myself

the ref is never spotting that though therefore we wouldn't get handballs given in that situation.

VAR is literally there to spot things the ref hasn't or wouldn't have spotted. That's its point. If the handball rule for attacking players wasn't so idiotic, VAR would review that and say "Ball to hand but accidental, nothing wrong with that, goal!". VAR has many, many issues and I'd happily do away with it but the source of the issue here is the current handball rule.
