Many years ago I lived in London and went to the Oval to watch Surrey on numerous occasions when Alec Stewart was a promising young cricketer (and, unbelievably now, Surrey were absolutely skint). Back then Kennington wasn't an area you wanted to be out in when it was dark. Has much changed since?

Meh. It's not the nicest of areas, but I've staggered through Kennington through the small hours of many mornings, and never felt unsafe.

But then I spend most of my time going out drinking in places like Brixton, so maybe I'm not the best one to answer!
