Friday night is music night

It's canny ,i love a bit tff but they're, by their own admission borrowers of ideas . This track is Personal Jesus in everything but lyrics and vocal

I love the Hurting but its a Peter Gabriel 111 homage plus them
The Big chair period was the true them ,their peak ,not copying or worrying
Personal Jesus ?
Post it then so we can listen to the copy.

You are right in that on two or three occasions they’ve thrown in some Beatles type choruses or verses.
That’s two or three times in the hundreds of songs they’ve written.
Their songs stand up to anything put out over the past forty years.
“ someone knocking on my door “ is a doffed cap to Mcartney.
Sowing the seeds of love is a Beatles song evidently. Don’t think so.
“Time to eat all your words,
Swallow your pride
Open your eyes “
Was not Mcartney, it was Orzabal.
Anyway I acknow, edge what you say. You should listen to their full catalogue or repertoire before you make your judgement, 👍

You haven't heard Personal jesus?
They've quoted their influences and they can be heard
I like them because I love the artists they draw from
There's certain lines you can draw across music and they cross with others
I don't think we listen the same way to agree
If you love the Hurting ,buy Peter Gabriel 3
You may then not hear all the little gem's of weirdness they did and copied and think it's crap which is fine
