Not talking about the thread mate, I mean people suing fortnite for dance moves.

Really? How can anyone else do that though?

Same reason Charlton is, they nicked their moves.

They really couldnt have been more blatant about it (no idea why that video is 30 minutes long!)

How can you sue someone for a dance move?

That's the question really. Choreography can be protected, whether one move can be is up for debate. Hence the cases.

Ribeiro says he is currently in the middle of copyrighting the dance.
took him since 1991,and a popular game using it,for him to copyright it.

    I'm on the fence tbh.

Don't get me wrong, if they were just there in the game I'd think "fair use, shut your twist".

The fact they are selling them separately as dlc makes me think Carlton and the others have a case to be heard, or at least a good reason to bitch. Don't they deserve a slice of each sale?

Hell, if I was famous and had a signiture pose/move/whatever I'd probably be happy for them to monetise it if I got my cut, I'd be pissed if they just used it though.

  16. Exactly this tbh. Aye fair enough if it was just in the game for nout, but to make people pay for it is another thing; why should fortnite profit from someone else’s signature dance move or pose? I’d be suing too.

Every single dance and emote on that game is copied from some pop culture reference. Imagine if he won, the flood gates would be opened and not just for Fortnite or the gaming industry either.

Fair use or parody laws would protect them from a lot stateside imo.
