Can't be arsed to read the thread but I've got a wardrobe full of them and have worn them for decades for work, DIY, tennis, golf, rambling and the pub.

Yes I have got one on now but I no longer go to the Avenue (formally the Clipper) before the match in my striped rugby shirt because I have lost faith in it's ability to win matches.
I now go to the Colliery Tavern in different and more stylish clothing but sadly with no improvement in our league position.

Coincidentally, I've stopped going into the Tavern, with the same afforementioned none improvement in our league position.:-(

Would seem so I'm afraid, think yourself lucky, I've even changed me underpants but to no avail.

I could never wear Fred Perry like.
I still associate them with bone-headed simpletons who were skins when the rest of us were wearing casual gear.

Lacoste and Benetton for polos, always.

Behave man, you didn't start wearing casual attire till about 1985, at which point there were hardly any skinheads left.

I started the 'comp' in 83, fully casual-ed up and half of our school were still dressed in this stone age skinhead get up you refer to.
They were mostly Suddickers to be fair though.
