Frankie Boyle

His stuff doesn't bear close scrutiny. He never seems to bring up any original worldviews, just says something vulgar and graphic in the same tone every time.

He's very tight, but that makes it really stand out when he re-tells a joke. He always does it exactly the same, timing, intonation etc... very well rehearsed, which is fine, but it does highlight the lack of spontaneity.

100% agree, I've seen him a few times now and his earlier stuff was much more spontaneous. His interaction with the crowd the first time i saw him at City Hall was some of the best I've seen from a comedian. However the last time I saw him which was at the Empire it was much more stilted and formulaic. He was telling loads of jokes from things I'd seen him in on the telly. He also had major demands around audience "involvement" and threatened to have people thrown out. You also weren't allowed back in if you left the auditorium. 🤷🏼‍♂️
