Forget Lincoln

Spot on.

I could imagine the two interviews...one would have been bluffed whilst the other would have given an honest assessment of our squad.

Sadly we went with the bluffer.

Massive opportunity missed and whilst I really hope Im wrong regarding Johnson everything i have seen so far tells me Im not.
Think they would have been a better appointment. However, think the current head coach will do much better after the summer. Think we will be in this league. Think the club will get a f***ing almighty shock at how fans, when allowed back, react to Donald still being in charge.

The only way to make sense of a table with the disparity between games is PPG

1) Doncaster 2.09
2) Lincoln 2.00
----------------------
3) Hull 1.85
4) Peterbro 1.84
5) Portsmouth 1.80
6) Accrington 1.78
----------------------
7) Sunderland 1.64
8) Ipswich 1.63
9) Charlton 1.59
10) Oxford 1.54

Eh? Doncaster are averaging above the standard 2 pts per game. They are very consistent - last 12 games since they played us they have 10 wins, 2 losses. No draws!!!!!! They've lost Ben Whiteman to Preston, but have been busy in Jan with 6 coming in.

No true fan gives up hope while there's an outside chance, but auto promotion will be very difficult from where we are - it would take a Keane-esque run. The chance of making the playoffs is still good Imo, we need to end the season in good form.
Fair post. It will be difficult but as you say, not impossible either. I just can't agree with it being over with so much football still to play. Stranger things have happened.

Re: Doncaster, I just remember how absolutely awful they were against us. Plus, worth remembering that a majority on here wanted Parkinson sacked when he was getting over 2 points a game earlier in season. So unless you watch them all the time, can't say for sure they are being consistently deserved winners. I have also heard their own fans say they lack strength in depth, although as you say, perhaps January signings might help them in that regard.

In theory, with two games a week virtually every week, strength in depth should be our biggest strength.

Tough? Yes. Impossible? No.

Keep the Faith.

If we are still in this league it would confirm Johnson was the wrong appointment.

This division is poor. Our players are not world beaters but if this club cant compete with Doncaster and Lincoln we may as well give up now.

But didn’t Sunderland have the chance to appoint Danny Cowley but bizarrely chose to appoint a muppet like Lee Johnson.
The Cowleys would have virtually guaranteed promotion and the future woukd have been rosy. As it is Ipswich will reap the rewards once they sack Lambert.
The Cowleys would have virtually guaranteed promotion? Who are they Brian Clough and Peter Taylor reincarnated!

I agree mate, but I do see improvements in the club.

Under Ross and Parkinson MK would have gone further ahead. We pulled a goal back. We actually equalised. I was elated when we did. Shame I couldn’t say so. But that’s the mods for you. That’s an improvement to me. Our heads don’t go down even if we do.

Marra, you got a thread ban; it's not the end of the world. If you pm @AB22 Easy Tiger or any other mod I'm sure they will explain it. Get over it mate. Take care and all the best👍🤘

Nobody has said that but they would have been a better long term appointment than the fella we did appoint.
In your opinion to which you are perfectly entitled l might add. However they weren’t appointed for whatever reason so we will never know. In my opinion the squad has improved markedly (on paper) under LJ as have some parts of our performance even if inconsistencies mean results haven’t yet followed. Maybe they never will but l am as always Ever Hopeful. We shall all have to wait and see where we finish up at the end of the season.

Lincoln are doing brilliantly. I have a mate who's a Lincoln fan and pleased for him. Clearly I dont want you doing well at our expense but if we arent good enough to go up again then thats down to us. I can't get away with the small element of our fanbase the look down their noses at other clubs and think of us as much bigger then we actually are but its not the majority by a long chalk. Good luck for the rest of the season.

I agree - We would have a really good chance if we were on the same PPG now as we were when Parky was sacked - we would be right in touch ;)

You mean 1.77 ppg? Hardly in touch with the top 2. But undeniably a bit better.

But then Ross managed 1.85 ppg over a season.

If we had the same PPG now as we had after 13 games we would be 2 points behind Hull who are currently in second with a game in hand and Lincoln and Doncaster would be reachable.. Its not a 'bit better'. Ross is neither here nor there he had all the advantages that the two managers since haven't had in that a blank sheet of paper, more funds than anyone else in this division has ever had, not hampered by salary caps or over inflated squad size. he blew it and everyone since has had to manage that.

Tbf I also thought it was right to sack Parkinson at the time and still think it was the right time. I just expected the new bloke to do better than he has so far.

Hopefully you are right and Johnson proves me wrong, however, I have yet to see any improvement on the pitch and results bare that out.

Jones looks an excellent signing the jury is out on the rest of the signings mind.
