It seems now our beloved GOV are now sniffing around cutting calories and/or making smaller portions in microwave meals etc to curb obesity. Getting silly now like. Can we not be trusted to eat what we want anymore?,, seems not. Id love to see how this will be brought in and policed at at the takeaway joints across the country...

sounds to me like the people who make ready meals and the like have been bending the lugs of politicians at the local lodge in order to reduce the size of things but charge the same.
that's how things work and the reason behind most of the things governments come up with.

  6. Well done uk gov. WDUKG

A wise man told me that when the voters cannot look after themselves then the government have to be there to do it on their behalf.

In this instance U.K. GOV would be criticised if they allowed the obesity epidemic to get even worse.

Government now sees it's role as telling us what do eat.

The other day they produced a report saying they were going to have to start telling us what to wear.

People sometimes still say "it's a free country".

When obesity costs the NHS so much then it’s only right that the government start giving out advice and warnings. People can’t be trusted to be responsible so someone has to do it for them

    Jesus wept.

Chillingly authoritarian. Not even Stalin tried to tell people what they could eat

You may be happy to turn control of your life over to the government, most people would prefer to live their own lives thank you very much.

    I don't care.

It's not the governments job to tell me what I can eat.

I'll do them a deal, I'll opt out of paying the healthcare portion of my taxes, and they can leave me alone to eat out what I want and I'll sort out my own 'health implications'.

Packets, boxes & tins of stuff have been getting smaller for years anyway whilst charging the same price
    Its called inflation.

Theyre not telling what you can eat. You have whater choice you want. However if you choose option (out of your own free will) that results in a negative outcome to NHS & society as a whole, you pay a bit extra. Nowt wrong with that, its been happening with beer & tabs for years.

Talking about takeaway joints , just caught the end of a article on itv local news earlier. Some young lad, looked about 30 clem has been taken under the wing of a personal trainer. Anyway with the kids permission he has gone round every local takeaway with posters of said lad saying. Do not serve this man of any food.
