A couple of decades ago, I was seeing a bird who lived in Murton. One sunny day through there, there was a mass swarm of these titchy, little, type of black beetle looking bugs. They were everywhere and I particularly noticed that house windows were covered in masses of them. Never seen owt like that before.

It's thrips round here. When they cut the wheat, all these little black insects are released and they crawl around on light coloured washing on the line or on my computer monitor.

Aye they do the seagulls around our way were ganin mad. There were hundreds of gulls on the cricket pitch and flying around apparently its the formic acid that they like.
