Sorry if SEB but I have full sympathy for the families and friends of the 2 guys shot in Florida - but it seems pretty obvious to me that they weren't up to any good.

Why else would they have been in that area at that time of the morning and 12 miles away from where they were staying? Not somewhere you would 'stumble' across!!

how the fuck do you know that????

was reported this morning they may have been offered a 'lift' to their hotel and sadly was a gang initiation killing

this might not be the case but how can you judge them?

Fricken hell, pretty big assumption to make.....Nobody ever been jacked at gun point so they can be robbed away from the glare of the public eye?

my gut reaction and the statements of the police I'm wondering if they were looking for a bit of sniff

very tragic tale of events though...

you have no grounds to suggest the were 'up to no good'.

and if they were 'up to no good' this still doesnt justify their deaths.

when i go on hols i like to go off the beaten track and to places that have a bit of an egde. didnt realise i was signing my own death warrant.

I've ended up in dodgy area purely by accident many times when in the States. The last being when I decided to walk back to my hotel from Cowboy Stadium after the Pacquiao/Clottey fight. It was only after about 4 miles that I realised that I was going in the wrong direction.

I'm not sure how dodgy the area was but at one stage I came across a bridge that I had to walk under. On the other side of the road was 4/5 latinos. One of them lifted their t-shirt up and I'm sure there was a gun. I was shitting myself so much I never paid too much attention.

On another occasion, when I was living in Cleveland, I was at a party at a Frat House and decided to walk off to get some more beer. Not realising that the street I was going through at the time was gang land. Luckily I was so pissed I didn't know.. and no-one was around. But a week later there was a shooting on the street.

So it is possible to be in the wrong place for just being stupid

I was shocked at the statistics being quoted.....

Hire cars accounted for 43% of all armed robberies in the Sarasota area
And 83% of all murders

I thought they had clamped down on this in Florida
This will damage the tourist industry
