Flash Broken

Anyone tell me why when I put my Nikon D90 on auto mode the flash never works?
I could take it back to Jessops like I suppose but don't want to look like a knacker if its something simples.
Might as well look one here instead....

have you tries pressing the button iv'e circled on this pic?

maybe if you check your cam menu, you might have it set so the flash doesn't fire...have a look..

As clyde mentions, you may have turned the flash off at some point. It would randomly do that on my D40, never quite figured it out tbh.

Yes tried that mate, Think I will take it back to Jessops and see what they say.
Hopefully its fucked like as its still under warranty!
That is if I get a brand spanker in the place of it...
