FLA MARCH TODAY IN LONDON

Quite, and I agree with your opinion. I was a student 20 years ago and loved a good march for a a cause that you believe in and feel could make a modicum of difference. I don't agree with this march one bit but I respect the right to protest.

Wannabe moderator on another club's forum.

No just dont want to accidentally stumble accross bigoted and potentially racist opinions when reading a football forum.

You literally just said ' i respect the right to protest' then bitch at me for having an opinion.

So a march for something you believe in should not be a genuine protest because fans of a rival were there?

Is all protest wrong?

I marched with Brighton fans against the way they nearly lost their club to shit ownership. Ring any bells with your owner?

You may dismiss the cause but we in this country have a right to protest and we do, whether you agree with what the protest is for.
Nar, id protest with other fans, but hooligan groups pretending to be friends :D

You could say "I disagree with this" like I did. But instead you moderated a discussion.

Am I right in thinking that the FLA is named carefully and more accurately would be a collection of firms from different clubs marching together? I think I am though happy to be told otherwise. It's just that people who enjoy organised violence marching against people who organise violence on a different level seems a bit hypocritical. Happy to be proved wrong though.

This discussion could easily take place on the politics forum - it isnt football related. If the Labour party started a football team could we openly discuss every policy in minute detail on this forum?

That's exactly what it is marra.
I used to fight a wee bit in my youth at the footy, and the thought of walking with other firms holding hands I find rather funny.

They want to throw white plastic patio furniture at ISIS

As I said previously, I disagree with the cause but I agree with the right to protest. Not once have I said that it's a good thing, I find it hypocritical however the OP decided to say that your rival had fans there so hoping your club didn't. I'm a Londoner, I've seen the IRA bomb the city I grew up in, I've seen people mowed down in the street by a new wave of terrorist. People have the right to protest but people seem to believe protest is just a reason to go out to cause trouble.

For the amount of "firms" there, one video of a few people getting lairy is not representitive of the number of people there. You see worse in any city centre at 10pm on a Saturday night.

Fair enough. But my question was is this a march of people like your average fan or mostly people who would align themselves with a firm? The reason I ask and again, I could be wrong and haven't seen any footage, is it like a gay pride march where you'll get kids and music, good humour and fun or just marching along?

Have a look at the link that I posted. The main man in the FLA is banned from every ground in the country for 3 years due to football related violence.

It's all the firms , or people who are or want to be associated with a firm, and they walk along hand in hand with lads from other firms. West Ham and Chelsea and millwall and Spurs mincing together

I know people who have been on the march today and it's an inclusive march, not just lads but families. From what I hear there's been barely any trouble and a wide range of ethnicities, more representitive of minorities than you actually see within stadia. Even from a multicutural city like mine it's rare to see season ticket holders that are non white.

What the protesters will achieve, I don't know, but it's a movement that shows that regardless of alliegencies it's a common cause & something people feel passionate about. And fair play to them. Anti racism march would be undermined if the EDL hijacked it.

So anti racism marches are a joke but blatant homophobic comments are acceptable? I bet you pine for the 70s. What makes your comment different?

Sounds beautiful- today anti terrorism tomorrow a march against austerity or nuclear weapons. I suppose the problem they might have is their demographic, hooligans, probably isn't one that any right minded MP is going to champion.
