First FA cup final memory

Mine was Spurs v Man City 1981.
The whole build up was class, from being at the teams hotels and the coach trip and struggle down Wembley way to the memories from years ago. When did the magic go, semis at Wembley and time change?

Same. Think I watched the first game at my aunties with my older cousin, then the replay with him at hers too. Always remember Ricky Villa because of it. Didn't pay much interest till 84 after that and then for a few years was watching them religiously and the build up.

Neil Young scoring winner for Man City v errrrr in 69 fnurrr fnurrrr

Coventry V Spurs in '87, I was 9
Was a good un that one.
Most are shite e.g. QPR v spurs 82, scum v Liverpool 74.
The Leeds v Chelsea replay at OT in 70 was a corker. The "tackles" were flying in !! Both sides could look after themselves so it was a canny old free for all.

1973, must have been the first time I actually watched a full match. Played football with the other lads in the street afterwards. Brilliant day.

Sounds very familiar, apart from loudly singing "we won the cup" [to further irritate the mag neighbours!]

1969 Man C 1-0 Leicester.

Shilton in goal, played 1st team football in 60s through to 90s. Overrated IMO however. The German goal in WC90 SF was his fault.

Same here. Dont remember much other than thinking the guy who scored for city (and an og iirc) looked old as owt

85 whiteside / Moran etc.

Funny I can recall scores and teams for every final from then up to 2001. After that they just all blur and I couldn’t tell you any of them without looking them up
