First FA cup final memory

Leeds Utd 0 Sunderland 1 , 1973 , Mam and Dad rented a colour telly to watch it , was chuffed I could watch Playschool and Mr Benn in colour :) Went outside at half time to kick a ball about with my Dad because he was a bag of nerves. I was only 3 so don’t remember much about the match (although I’ve watched it a canny few times now!) but I do remember the day. I still have my Dads SAFC scrapbook with bits cut out of the paper about the Cup run and final.

Norman Whiteside scoring that curler with outside of his boot against Everton I think
Inside, class goal though.

Many on here wont like this but my honest first FA cup memory was I think 1955 when just after the commentator had said Milburn was weak in the air he scored - with a header . Our Springwell flat full of Sunderland supporters who had crowded round our 12" Ekco telly erupted and I burst into tears due to the noise . How things have changed .

Mine was Spurs v Man City 1981.
The whole build up was class, from being at the teams hotels and the coach trip and struggle down Wembley way to the memories from years ago. When did the magic go, semis at Wembley and time change?
Probably the same game, only remember it for the song  met Ardiles a few years ago, lovely fella, been reminiscing to the bairn about closing the curtains & watching the whole build up:cool:

Fuckin hell, didn’t realise you were that owld

The diving header for Coventry when they beat spurs is my 1st memory, may of watched a cup final before that but that header has always stuck in my mind

First one I remember watching was Everton v Sheff Wed in '66. Everton were 2 down but won 3-2. Two of their goals were scored by the wonderfully named Mike Trebilcock. Also remember there being a pitch invader !

Very vague memory of watching Leicester vs Man City in 1969 with my cousins and sisters. I was 6 at the time and didn't bother much with football.

Remember Charlie George's winner in 1971 but nothing about the game.

First I got passionate about was Sunderland v Leeds as a 10 year old. I hated Leeds and wanted Sunderland to win as the underdog....I didn't even know where Sunderland was.
